So I thought he just liked Game of Thrones, but that is a SOLID list. Any man who puts Michael Moorecocke or any Elric story on his fantasy list has good fuking taste.

Around 9:00- Gail has a point - I’m the 80s we pronounced drow like crow not plow , but we could’ve have been incorrect, I’ve heard it pronounced like plow way more times in the past decade

I read most of these. Somehow it never occurred to me how ridiculous they were until Crick started breaking them down. I'm so goddamn lame.

No song of ice and fire on a best fantasy list? C'mon stanley!

I get the bit is Ron making fun of Chris but like how often do we have to listen talk about music or certain movies that I couldn't care less about. I don't like fantasy but ain't gonna knock it like it's the dumbest thing ever.

Always loved (listening to these old eps) when Ron says "I understand why Sci-Fi but I never understood fantasy."

It's such a primal and brilliant observation that reflects immediately back unto the individual. And it also does present an interesting dichotic relationship between the 2 genres; science fiction is undoubtedly based on or bastardizing our understanding of the sciences. Fantasy is literally everything that says those scientific relativities are inconsequential and irrelevant, because whatever rules applied are antithetical to what we understand science to entail.
