Thanks Doug. I just broke 170 lbs and am at 17%. I still have flab. This is the closest I’ve ever been. Thanks for the motivation to just keep going. All I want is confidence at the pool and the beach at 62 years old. I’m gonna do this 🤜🤛
This is basically where I am right now. From 37.5 back in June 2025 to a leaner/more muscular 17.8% bf as of today’s weigh in. I am in striking distance of 15% body fat. By my calculations based on the data I have collected over these months, I am about 9 to 12 weeks away. All of what Doug is saying in this video is absolutely correct and experienced this first hand every step of the way. For me, 15% body fat is a decision point. I can either reverse diet out of the deficit to maintain the 15% or continue a few months more thereafter and hit 12% to give me a good buffer for a lean gaining phase. Time will tell but one thing I must say is your videos have been immensely helpful and important for me in this long journey.
The more of these videos I watch, the more I realize that basically, all I have to do, is change absolutely nothing at all for the next 6-12 months and I’ll be at 10%. I have locked in absolutely everything for the past 10 weeks. Down 12 lbs, 2000 cal/day= 450 cal deficit, upper/lower 4 days a week, no processed foods, no alcohol and sleeping 7-8 hrs. Lifts going up every week, averaging 1lb loss/week. Great advise and I’m literally doing everything the way so advise! I’m on the right track! 👍🏽👊🏽
That sounds exactly my journey. Started with 25% on DEXA, breezed to 20-19%, the slowed down (phase 2). Weight stagnated, sometimes increased. Trusted the process and made adjustments to the workouts, but nothing drastic. What matters is the trend - feels like I’m at 17% now. Keep going
Such a fantastic video!! So relatable. I’ve been stuck in the boring phase for a while and now this week things are suddenly popping. Like, I don’t need to flex and my muscles are showing and finally…the abdominal fat is melting away.
Your videos are so well articulated and on point. Really helpful. Thank you.
This is one of the best videos ive seen about this! from last january ive lost 71 pounds from 255-184 lbs but i got stuck for the last 6 months and fell into the trap of cutting calories and upping cardio and i eventually kind of gave up and just bulked up to 200 but now ive realize how you are supposed to actually cut once you get to this point and this is a perfect video about it!
Watching this while I'm in phase 3 and feeling the boredom and myself slipping occasionally. Thanks for the kick up the ass, hopefully your advice has me focused again.
