The Kelski video + Penguinz0 talking about the game is just the biggest accidental marketing for a game ever

I really think you should actually give th Finals another go, man. They’ve improved so much.

Theres no way flats says "theres so much shit happrning" coming from over watch and marvel rivals

As a console player I must say, the high TTK is such a big factor. Not getting destroyed in just 0.1seconds makes the ankle breaking movement so so so much bearable and actually fun. I didn’t try before cause I thought it was too sweaty, but is actually super fun and I don’t put more hours into it because work and college don’t allow me. Progression wise is very friendly; It’s very easy to get the coins needed to unlock equipment and the daily missions give a lot of XP for the battle pass and other stuff. You should try it, and maybe play with the mayor himself (Kelski)

7:45 "it's overwhelming" says the overwatch player

been playing The Finals more than Rivals lately. great damn game, would love to see you jump back into it Flats

WE GOT ANOTHER CONTESTANT BOYS!!! START THE FINALS PIPELINE

I just played the finals for the first time in the last week.

Already level 40 and it’s an absolute banger that needs to blow up even more. Never played a game like it. Me and all my friends who I put on are addicted

Earlier today I saw The Finals in the Steam news part of the games library and I was like “huh, maybe I should play it again” lmao

I truly have enjoyed my time with the finals. It is quite literally the best shooter out there right now

Just started playing it last week.
It's so much fun. In a way I'm glad I didn't start playing it right away because there's so much content now

Love how the whole video summarizes on "damn this shit looks so good, i can't be caught liking it too much"

For your final comment, it really doesn't take long to unlock other gear (abilities and weapon options) for each class. And they do a good job balancing so you aren't really missing out especially since it gives you that fun progression feeling that you got something new to play with. The skins are a different story but they are all cosmetic.

To address some of the questions:

You basically never get stuck in destruction, because you have things in your kit to blow your way out.
Most of the best weapons are given by default. It doesn't take much time to unlock stuff by playing. Generally, you can use whatever setup you like - if you figure out how to use the kit, most stuff is completely viable. I never build a class around meta, I just pick the stuff I find fun.
Strength covers your ability to throw objects - not just barrels, but objectives and other pieces of utility around the map, including utility an enemy player has deployed.
Invisibility plays a sound effect when you go into it and it has a shimmer like cloaking in Halo. It can be annoying to begin with but it has been nerfed a lot and with a little bit of practice it is absolutely manageable.
Your concern about the weapons is basically null now - while weapons still fit the associated class, there is WAY more variety nowadays. For example, the heavy has an AR if that's why you played Medium.
Shielding is fun, most of the time you play selfish with your shields - this isn't reinhardt (I get rein is way more selfish w/ shield now in ow2, think ow1 / 6v6 sigma shield usage)
Dematerialiser is on a cooldown and so it really isn't like fortnite builds / can't be spammed, its more of a playmaking util. Similarly, other classes have similar kit to make those kinds of creative plays - the gateway on light is like a 2 way teleporter you can throw both exits for.
The winch claw is nowhere near as bad as roadhog.

There's a few other things I've prolly missed, but you should game another try, a real try. It's clear from the comments you make about the game that you have an understanding that either no longer applies due to updates or you kinda made a snap judgement when you first tried it and missed the bigger picture.
Scope for creativity in terms of how the kit interacts with each it other and the environment is limitless. You will have a lot of fun with the game just trying out silly shit instead of trying to be good at it. :)

P.S goo gun is chadded, you can also use it to trap enemies for a second by directing them as well as the examples in the video, highly recommend just running around with it with a squad and trying whatever stupid stuff comes to mind

The battle passes give you about 1.8x the amount of premium currency you used to buy it with. So a 1150 battle pass gives you about 1900 if you unlock all the nodes. Meaning once you buy a battle pass, and you get about 70% through it, you now have enough currency to buy the next battle pass. The only FOMO in the game is the FREE events that anyone can play.

When you start the game it now gives you 5000 units of the unlock currency. Guns are 500, specialization are 500 and equipment is 300 (could be off on the numbers). Basically you get to handpick a handful of builds of the most meta stuff to help you catch up.

Bro i wish The Finals could get popular again. it's hands down the best currently existing competitive shooter out there.
if you haven't played it or played it at launch. Please go back again and play it again, you won't be disappointed!

Oh my god im gonna lose my shit at this audio render bs
