This was a learning experience for me…aka partial fail. Was a gloppy mess and had to add flour. I had preheated oven which was my bad. Very dense but very tasty and will try again following directions 🤣

I made this baguette recipe today and it turned out wonderful. This is one of the simplest bread recipes I have followed and it turned out better for me than most of the others, so I wanted to thank you for taking the time to share and show how to make it! I will definitely be making this one often! I' will also be trying some of your others now with hopefully the same success.

Once I heal up from a recent surgery I need to give this a try. Those loaves look wonderful!

This is the best recipe so far. Mine didn’t come out light, airy and crusty like store French bread but it came out absolutely perfect for me. The texture ended up more like sourdough without the sour. Although the second time I had to make it in the mixer, I think it still came out like the first time and I actually will do it by hand in the future. I LOVE this recipe!

Just found your channel and I love your content! I have had my Nutrimill for almost a year. I have mastered milling corn for cornbread but can't seem to get the hang of bread. I regularly bake bread with artisan flour with no problems. I can't get a proper rise from my fresh milled flour. The bread taste great but is very dense and almost doughy, if that makes sense? I followed this recipe exactly and same results - great taste - dense texture. What could I be doing wrong? Thanks for putting out these videos, I'll be binge watching!

I came here to see a hand knead with fmf as recommended. I noticed you only did one rise. Is that because it was French bread? I want to do more of a sandwich loaf. I assume the kneading process is the same even though the recipe may vary slightly, but wouldn’t you let it rise twice?

Can I use this recipe and use my mixer

@MichelleSchwier 8 months ago

Hi I kneaded the dough in my mixer so I didn’t add my extra flour and the dough was very wet/sticky making it hard to shape the baguette and creat surface tension. Do you recommend adding extra flour in the mixer? Should I do 4.5 cups of flour instead of 4?
