Her performance on this movie was so natural to me. Sometimes it was just so realistic that I forgot she was actually an actress.

She's an amazing actress, she really held her own opposite DDL in Phantom Thread

It is refreshing to see someone actually pause and search for the right words in her mind. Also, kiss me my girl, before I'm sick.

It's so interesting w/ the two characters how when Reynolds is ill, when he's weak and supplicant, he's at his best in a sense as a human being. And Alma is rather the opposite. When she's strong and mothering towards him, she's at her best rather than being the meek, submissive figure she is much of the time. The characters realize they need the push and pull of that dynamic for themselves to be their best psychologically outside of their professional work. It's an incredible dichotomy.

I saw the film three times myself and the interviewer is really correct about what you get each viewing.

She's not a method actor? It seems like she is still Alma! The set story also shows how much it mirrors the film and how she herself was behaving like Alma towards DDL. How disarmingly charming.
