Great video.  This is my first year growing sweet potatoes. I live in 5b. Dug up one today (did it all wrong, lol) and was happy to see some nice tubers.  I’ll harvest the rest a little smarter now that I have watched this.

Awesome to see another Willamette Valley sweet potato grower!  We've been growing them for the past few years, and I think we're finally getting it.  We went from getting 30 lbs from probably 30 to 40 slips to getting over 100lbs from about the same amount of plantings.  Having a couple 15gal grow bags in our hobby greenhouse really helped.  They were planted sooner, harvested a little later, and really enjoyed the extra warmth.  We got 15 lbs per bag from those, with only 2-3 slips per bag!  My favorite variety is Murasaki.  They are delicious even without curing.  An hour in the oven and topped with butter 😋.

His digging system is so complicated that my brain could not understand why he is doing that way when it is just so simple to dig sweet potatoes.
