Please Subscribe. We have never asked before — because I (the host) have felt it's bad form But many comments suggested we do so, with people apologizing that they've watched every episode without clicking subscribe (bc we didn't ask!). God this moderator was phenomenal. Taking a genuine moment with each of them so they felt heard and, in Nancys case, comfortable enough to lower defenses to make actual progress

"I was groomed to be a wife", "They're teaching the kids Grindr". She thinks the government is trying to make her kids trans, but i think MAGA is profiting off her fears of losing her kids again, and that's even worse.

Wow, she went from 'You will never be a Woman' to 'She's done so much to be who she is today'. Nancy's heart really turned around with acceptance :)

Fascinating that Nancy was so focused on trans breasts being fake and then we hear the story of how her mom passed from breast cancer. It's crazy to see in real time someone misattribute their pain into someone else's personal choices.

One of my favorite quotes regarding the trans experience, as a person from a religious upbeinging. "God made me trans for the same reason he made wheat but not bread, grapes but not wine. So that humanity may experience the joy of creation"

As soon as Nancy mentioned being punished as a child for displaying more masculine traits, I knew that her view on this stems from shame. She internalizes, then externalizes it as anger at the other person. She is subconsciously triggered but then labels it as a "them" problem, not a "her" problem. This is the issue with gender norms and gender stereotypes. People feel shame and anger over it and direct it towards other people who are just living life authentically.

I feel like Eve was SO respectful as things that were very triggering were being said. She really gave space for Nancy to try and work through and articulate why she was so angry and fearful about trans people. It’s an incredible strength that Eve has obviously gained through her pain and difficulties.
