When the Alarmist dealt 2 Dmg to Tantrum in 56:25 you started the process of KO'ing Tantrum - removed last remaining HP and removed the Poison effect. Next up would have been to remove Tantrum from the Battle mat as well as his Initiative die and remove all Active, Locked, and BP dice. But the active Liquid Life prevents Tantrum from being KO'd so he remains in his current position in the Battle Mat and keeps his Initiative die in the Ini Meter where it is currently at. Wouldn't this KO prevention have prevented the removal of the Poison effect as well? We could say that the KO was not prevented and instead Liquid Life auto-Revived Tantrum but that would still mean removing his chip from the mat and replacing it in one of the Gearloc starting positions and removing the Atk Buff and Bone dice.
Great to watch you playing, Adam. I'm still learning & trying to pick up any tricks you use. I keep seeing things like "Tantrum, throw your axes!" ðŸ¤
I know this is an extremely late comment, but wow!!! That was one seriously intense battle! I genuinely thought you were going to pull it back at the end too!
I only recently got into boardgames and this is my first big purchase. I ordered the base game 2 days ago and I've been ploughing through all the TMB content on youtube I can find, and I must say this video has me so hyped to get my hands on it! I'm sure over time I will eventually work my way round to purchasing all the addons.
At 23:20 you talk about rolling disable against the Break ability on the baddie to the left of Drellen. However Disable needs to be placed on an adjacent baddie so I believe that wouldn't be possible. Had you managed to roll a disable it would've had to be placed on Drellen. If that had been the case I believe Bog Ruler on Drellen, which is listed a skill, would be disabled ! Leaving him open to attack and possibly vulnerable to poisen!?
If the rounds go to the point you are taking true damage at the beginning of the round/turn, but drellen has bog type baddies on the battle mat out, does he lose the health or does his tyrant ability negate this effect?
18:55 Liquid Life was exhausted but should have been removed from the game since it is a consumable which you would not have been able to unexhaust with the utility Parts in 29:29
I have read all the manuals, reference sheets so far and watched most of your movies (and also preordered of course). Somehow I get the impression that the difficulty level is beyond average; I see my party already more loosing than winning. The battles seem somethimes overwhelming. Is that by intention or is there a way for new players to join the game with a certain progression in difficulty?
In 13:09 you ticked Tantrum's Rage die because he just attacked Drellen with his skill dice. However, the FAQ near the end of the rule book states "Attacking is the act of rolling Atk Dice (white) on a target. Rolling Skills is not considered an 'Attack' even if Skills do Dmg." Thematically, I would agree with what is on the rulebook. Then again, there are skills that are hard to not consider as an attack such as Nugget's Longsword. So how should we call this?
I'm way too excited for this game! I've been watching all the videos again for it.
I do have a question regarding your rolls at 47:46 and 57:35. Tantrum has two attack dice on his back-up slots so wouldn't that mean you were only able to roll two attack dice instead of 4 (not including the +2 dice from the loot card)?
I'm confused about you exhausting the rage die for tantrum that first time he was knocked out. I understand that any active dice are exhausted when you're knocked out, but that doesn't really fit thematically for tantrum's rage die. When he's revived, he's still a berserker angry little gearloc and much of his skill lies in the manipulation of that skill tree. It seems a tad silly to have to exhaust that ability, especially given that it's his innate. That would be like exhausting patches "recovery" ability. Cool video though. Seems like you should have been a bit more trained before trying this fight!
