At last! Great classic trick. Did you say it's a pizza cardboard?? Also, of course, you can have an extra pizza to reveal somewhere else once you vanish the real one!
First: you make the pizza reappear at the very end by hanging a duplicate on the back of your kid assistant at the start of the trick. For example, make him don a funny-looking chef’s apron and hat. The back of the apron strings that go around the neck can have a magnet to which is attached the duplicate pizza. (You can easily figure out the stage directions to accomplish this.)
Second: Make your “pizza box” look like two real pizza boxes joined together by the center section! You might say you’ve invented a magical “pizza delivery” machine & demo how you magically send pizzas off to customers without having to actually physically deliver them! (Of course, customers can return them if they want extra pepperoni!) Put artwork on your cardboard boxes making them look like actual pizza boxes—or go down to your local pizzeria and ask them for several clean boxes for your project. They’ll be happy to give them to you once you tell them you’ll be advertising their restaurant to hundreds of potential customers in your audiences! 😉
Third: Make your pizzas as realistic as possible: photograph a real pizza & stick the photo onto your round disk. Or make an exaggerated, funny-looking pizza! You could use magnets to lock the pizza in place once it’s hidden in the secret compartment.
Finally: When dealing with the reappearance of the pizza, you could use a fake telephone receiver 📞 (that actually rings) that you pull out of some ridiculous place and tell your helper that the pizza didn’t arrive at the customer’s home. In searching around for the pizza, recheck the box (it’s still empty), then look around, having your kid chef turn around. The kids will go wild when they see the pizza hanging off his apron! Do the standard “turn-around” gag, milking the moment and the kids will actually jump out of their seats pointing at the elusive pizza! Have fun!
I have a request. I want to make a routine where the disc disappears and reapears somewhere else like a book or a chest that is on stage. I want to show the chest open at first, then close it and after the disc dissapears show it has travel. Do you have a similar "appearing disc" concept?
