I love how pretty much all he's asking from DMC4 is basically DMC5

Honestly the better way to explain the story.

Nero: Fight the demons and save Kyrie.

Dante: Literally cleaning up Nero's half ass work of a devil hunter.

"He's just gonna go over to where the bad guy is, and just beat him."

That's just the most Dante thing ever to be honest.

"you cant just mash buttons..."
"UNLESS your playing as Vergil" LMAO

You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Fun fact: The weapons Dante gets are not from the demon he's fighting but actually from the demon's soul that's powering the Hell Gate.....meaning he was most likely supposed to fight Pandora, Lucifer and Gilgamesh as their own boss fights originally but all of them most likely got cut.

Given all that occurred during development, its a miracle it turned out this good.

"This is the best cutscene..."
Doesn't show Dante getting Lucifer.

Blitz: *exists
Fury: i just wanna say that, i'm a huge fan.

Nero: Watching his world turn upside down, loses his brother figure, almost loses his love
Dante: “First, I whip it out...”

Ah yes. The game that got me into the franchise. It could’ve been more but what it is, gameplay wise is super fun. It really told that Itsuno and his team focus on the gameplay/fun aspect first.

"If Capcom was at all interested in actually allowing the devs to finish this game"
The Japanese would basically consider that blasphemy. The developers of Dark Souls admitted that Lost Izalith is unfinished, but they didn't touch a single monster in there for the next-gen ports. Why? "For posterity." The developers of SMT Nocturne HD Remaster are using PS2 music compression in their NINTENDO SWITCH GAME. Why? "For posterity."

"I'd rather have a game focused on combat which is short, fun and the good stuff is all that you do."

Boy, you're gonna love DMC5.

You can tell when someone put in the work to try and enjoy DMC4 when they actually use the exceed mechanic after sword swings instead of just charging it between fights

In DMC5, don't forget to always air taunt as Nero, since it acts like another midair jump and you can exceed during it.

*casually looks at dmc 5

Also holy shit I just realized that was 8-bit Baka mitai playing

'The best boss fight in the franchise'
Hold my plastic chair.

BTW vergil just fell into hell by now in the timeline thats why he's not here

I loved DMC4 for the longest time, but even i can tell you that this game felt like a lot of unfinished potential. There was so much that could have been done with multiple playable characters, the story could have been interesting, but for some god forsaken reason Capcom forced Itsuno and his team to just rush the game out. If this game had released in February of 2009 instead of February of 2008 like it did, i can bet you the game would have been amazing.

For 10 plus years I was angry that they decided to reboot the series when there was still so much potential with not just the original DMC series but with Nero himself.

But now, i ain't gonna loose sleep over it. Because DMC5 is what happens when you let Itsuno and his team finish their work and put out a quality title. Pretty much everything you criticized DMC4 for doing, 5 fixes and improves on and then some.

Finally, I've been waiting for this next review. I'm loving the series so far and I'm really excited to see what you think of DMC5.
