The main spindle has two flats on it which must go towards the main crown wheel for clearance. You have fitted it with the flats on the wrong side. This is important.
I tried doing it in car, but had to bash pinion pin out, and it did not want to go back in. So i pulled the whole 3rd member out. You are my hero dude !
Respect to you Stu, showing the "doing stuff" warts an all, I started filming what should have been a one-hour job, 2 1/2 hours later I stopped and just did what I usually do and film a segment possibly during and after, yesterday it took me four hours to change the lower control arms on a MIni, I was to knackered doing that to film anything.
