The Intervener — BBC Saturday Night Theatre
Written by: Donald Wilson
Adapted by: Cynthia Pughe
Produced by: Audrey Cameron
First broadcast: October 21, 1961, BBC Home Service
Starring: Stephen Murray as Jeremy Penlove, Monica Grey as Lily Forrester

A placid London solicitor and confirmed bachelor, Jeremy Penlove, has his uncomplicated life turned upside down when a new client, Lily Forrester, walks into his office. Her arrival and the case she brings with her disrupt his orderly existence and draw him into a world he never expected.

This BBC production blends character-driven drama, legal tension, and psychological nuance, typical of Wilson’s introspective storytelling.
