China's construction industry has quietly developed some of the most advanced machines on the planet, and they are already working in the real world. In this video, we cover 8 of them, starting with the Sany SAP200C, an AI-guided asphalt paver that laid 158 kilometers of driverless highway in China with satellite positioning and centimeter-level accuracy. We also look at the CPG500 track-laying machine that builds high-speed rail lines continuously at 2 kilometers per shift, and the Zhen Hua 30, ZPMC's massive floating crane that lowered tens-of-thousands-of-tons tunnel sections onto the seabed for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge with millimeter precision.

The list continues with the XCMG ET120, a four-legged walking excavator nicknamed the Steel Mantis that climbs into disaster zones no standard machine can reach. Beneath Beijing, the Jing Hua tunnel boring machine—16 meters wide, 150 meters long, and weighing 4,300 tons—carved over 7 kilometers of tunnel through shifting soil without a single sinkhole on the surface. We also explore the XCMG rotary drilling rig, the world's most powerful foundation drill standing 42 meters tall and reaching 190 meters deep, used in over 80 countries. Rounding out the list are the WK-75 electric mining shovel, which moves 12,000 tons of material per hour, and the Tesmec M5 trenching machine that grinds through solid granite with a chainsaw-style cutting chain. From self-driving road pavers to ocean-going cranes and disaster-zone walking robots, these machines show why engineers and governments worldwide are paying close attention to China's construction technology.
