What a storyteller Peter Alliss was, simply untouchable in the commentary box. He will be sadly missed. RIP Peter.

One of the truly great Scottish players.

His commentaries where second to none....he was simply The Voice of Golf.

Gary Player said Peter Allis was one of two golfers he considered to be the greatest strikers of the ball. I watched his TV shows, including "Around with Allis" and studied his books. He went on to be a wonderful commentator.

I remember watching this at the time. I wondered if I'd ever see it again. It really takes me back. Thanks for posting.

I have been playing golf for 56 years and had 1000 lessons from 100 teachers, but found that I was learning new stuff right from the start. I look forward to hearing a compilation of his best bits of commentary - the remarks that brought wisdom and joy to us for decades.

Just magical.  Made me laugh when he introduced a young Greg Norman. "You might make a few Bob if you carry on swinging like that."

My dad bought me first set of golf clubs from John Stark back in 1979. A half set of second hand cut-me-downs in a vinyl bag. Great golf instructor.
