113:28  Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter “Vicky”, the widowed Empress Frederick of Germany, was NOT at her mother’s side during the latter’s death.

Vicky lay bedridden and ill in Germany from terminal breast cancer that had metastasized to other organs of her body.

Vicky died eight months after her mother in August 1901.

It’s genuinely hard to understand why large parts of English society still cling to an almost unbroken admiration for Henry VIII. The popular image of him remains curiously heroic, as if history had forgotten he was also a ruler who dominated, suppressed, and acted with the full entitlement of unchecked power.

When we strip away the romanticized legends, what emerges is a figure far less flattering: a monarch driven by appetites—political, personal, and otherwise—whose reign was marked not only by ambition but by the harsh imposition of that ambition on others. The cleaned-up portraits handed down to us conceal a far more unpleasant reality, one that contemporary descriptions often painted in far more unflattering tones.

If we translated such a figure into the present day, it would be like imagining a British prime minister with all the bombast of a Trump-like persona, traveling the world to conduct state business while burdened with the kind of grotesque personal neglect that only the most exaggerated political caricatures dare to portray—open sores, foul odor, soiled clothing. Obviously this is hyperbole, but the point stands: the historical myth bears little resemblance to the uncomfortable human beneath it.

To me, the unwavering reverence is simply incomprehensible. History deserves honesty—not hagiography.

Do they still use the lead or lead lined coffins?

The good news- you're buried in a magnificent and prestigious location- the bad news, it's crowded, you're going to become a tourist attraction, you're likely to be disturbed by  the morbidly curious,   and you're going to be spending eternity with roommates- often those you didn't get on with,

Very educational but you need a better microphone. Theres a wierd echo. Sounds like you talking into a dixie cup.
