I've repaired hundreds of washing machines, and most of what's on the showroom floor today I wouldn't put in my own home. Here are the only four I'd actually buy — and exactly who each one is right for.

I miss my Sears Kenmore washer. Had it for 27 years with only 2 repairs.

Came to USA from Germany in 1999 and bought a Miele washer and dryer ( like I had in Germany ) and NEVER had ANY issues with it. It spins 1600 RPM…even heavy towels are nearly dry. It has a setting for delicates ( like dresses ) and a wool program. Our sweaters ( cashmere, wool, angora, alpaca) come out like new ( spin them at 1200 RPM) My dishwasher is also a Miele. Their Slogan is : MIELE- always better! So true!!!!❤❤❤

Our Whirlpool is almost 50 a still running like a champ. It's been serviced only a handful of times. Every repair man told us never to sell them.

My parents bought a Speed Queen top loader in 1972,for a family of six...That machine was sold in 1990,having had just one belt replaced... Best frikken machine ever.

I have had my washer and dryer for 33 years and they are going strong. I clean them, do my own maintenance and repair, and I don't abuse them. About 15 or so years ago I realized it was becoming difficult to acquire replacement parts, so I created a shopping list of parts and went and bougt four of each part for both machines. I still have parts and I will have these machines until I am dead.
