Same people that made metal slug, just look at those sprites are insanely well made, the level of detail in this game is beatiful

Should've called the game Metal Sub.

Those days when the level of creativity of the dev team is just insane

This game probably ate coins like pandas eat bamboo

I remember buying this game for my pirated ps1, it had the title "Metal Slug 3". I was really excited because Metal Slug 3 hadn't yet arrived to the arcades in Mexico. When I ran the game for the first time and the main screen showed up I was totally disappointed, but then after playing a few minutes I got hooked on the gameplay and understood that I'd found a treasure.

Just like classic cartoons, sprites will always look stunning. 10, 30, 100 years after. You simply have to admire those microscopic details!

The best "Metal Slug" Submarine game.

22:51 Okay, THAT is some impressive destructible environment effects for 1993. The fact that they dared to have the bricks tumble down in a multiple frame animation PER destructible brick instead of them just crumbling or disappearing like many other games that attempted this is astounding. I don't know if they hit the actor limit, but having that number of on-screen sprites at once with no noticeable slowdown or screen tearing all while this giant segmented boss enemy is chasing you is nothing short of a technical act of the divine. The team at Irem was doubtlessly VERY proud of what they accomplished. Hats off.

Nearly 30 years and this classic never gets old! I still enjoy In the Hunt so much! I remember back in 99 it took me 30 credits to finish it...

I remember this game, its somehow much more fun than most games today

We gotta appreciate the amount of dedication put into this game.
Graphics are nothing short of art!!

I was 3-4 when I played this game , my dad thought me how to play and he played it with me and watched me played it . I requested his help on the bosses . It s one of my only memories with him as he died when I was 4. This video popped up on my feed and it made me happy as I now know which game we played together . When ever I played this he was always with me helping me .

Although there's a lot going on on the screen, everything is clearly distinguishable. Top notch visual design.

The devs that made Metal Slug used to work for Irem and created this game alongside Gunforce 1 and 2. Gunforce plays almost exactly like Metal Slug. Irem declined in the 90s and the devs left and joined SNK later making the Metal Slug games that we love.
RIP IREM

En los tianguis de México: "Metal Slug 3: Misión Submarina"

How much money I have spent on this and metal slug I don't even remember. Nostalgic days

Brought me memories about my childhood. Back when a simple videogame could make me happy.
Too bad I had to grow up.

Never ever heard of this game. And looks like a difficulty not suitable for me.  Not something I'd play but I'm enjoying a lot watching.
How impressed I am by the graphics!

24:54 The colossus in the background of the Seabed Ruins looks interesting

In The Hunt is also an spinoff collab tributes of Contra/Metal Slug Era
