I love all kinds of brown inks and this lineup of red-brown inks is no exception! I’m showcasing inks that I think look very similar to Diamine Ancient Copper and I provide a close-up of the ink swatches at the end. Enjoy!

I LOOOVE reddish browns. I think Ginger chicken is beautiful & the best dupe for Ancient Cooper but definitely costs more. Thank you so much for the video!

Ginger Chicken is one of my favourite inks! It may be one of the first ink bottles I actually finish. 😱😍 I’ve also had a great experience with Ancient Copper. They look very similar to me, though I think GC is slightly more orange.

Love all of these. I have Ancient copper inked up for the first time and I am absolutely loving it.

I absolutely love those ink colors! I love Autumn, and everything within it, and these colors really reflect it!

I love this colour family. The only ink out of these that I've tried is Ginger Chicken, and I love it so much.

I’ve just come across another similar ink to Diamine Ancient Copper that you may be interested in, Ferris Wheel Press ‘Steeped Umber’. Have a wonderful weekend Liane 😊

I love the Earl Grey Tea and Ginger chicken by Dominant Industries! Yummy!
I'm with you on the sound of opening the Monteverde Ink bottles. I think it reminds me of years gone by when more things were bottled in glass with a metal lid. Love it!

Liane, this is fantastic! This is one of my very favorite color families, and I have 5 of the 8 you showed. Earl Grey Tea has become my favorite orange, and Ginger Chicken is such a great pick as a dupe in this color family. I just have a sample of Ancient Copper, so I’m glad to know there is no need to replace it. You are correct, I could avoid purchasing more in this color family for years. I have cartridges of Fire Opal, and it’s a great way to have this color for my pocket pens. The lubrication works great in a Kaweco Sport.
Overall, I learned something here about the comparable inks, but you also reminded me how much I love orange, though it doesn’t take much. Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋

This video was helpful to me. Or at least, enabling. I have had Ancient Copper in my Pilot Decimo for a couple years years. I love the color, but my problem is that it is one of the worst for crusting on the outside of my nib. I have...many...pens inked up, so any one pen may be unused for a few weeks at a time. I am curious how similar colored inks would perform as to nib crusting. I just bought Dominant Industries Earl Grey Tea because, 1) people seemed to be raving, 2) it was on sale, 3) I love the name! I haven't compared it to Ancient Copper, and when I saw it in your line-up I thought I would regret the purchase (I try not to buy inks that are too similar to each other). By showing it as more orange, I was ink enabled. Well done! 👍😄

I love your ink videos so much— it feels very comprehensive to the point that I feel like I don’t have to buy inks based off of my preferences and how you described it. And I know it was soooo satisfying to complete a whole book!! Thanks for your detailed comparison🧡

Beautiful inks! Dominant Industy's ginger chicken is a fun name. Thank you for sharing! Your swatching videos are always fun to watch. :) Looking forward to watching the flip through! :D

I've been enjoying my exploration of Kobe Inks, and this comparison was very fun and helpful, Liane. Thank You!

Great selection of inks. If I were to get two of them, it would be the two Dominant Industry inks since that pair would provide a nice spread.

@janisstewart2217 2 years ago

Great video. Diamine Ancient Copper is my number one favorite ink. I also like Diamine Vntage Copper, but have a tendency to steer away from it because of the shimmer. Agree about the kakamora nib writing so heavily that it's really not an accurate picture of how most of the inks actually perform.

Found your video two years later while looking for ink🎉❤ ^w^ I’m super indecisive between Ancient Copper and the two DI inks

Love Ginger Chicken! Can you find a dupe for Tuna and Olives? 🫒

@lynnconroy8 2 years ago

Wow, this was the closest dupes to each other that I’ve seen.

fantastic video, loved it all the way through ☺☺☺

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for making this video! I recently got pricked by the brownish-red / blood orangey nib, and you make a video just in time for me to add to my list of wanted ink samples. Thank you! Apart from the Ancient Copper, the Sailor #873 is super pretty. They're all beautiful! And I agree with you about the Earl Grey Tea, I was kind of a bit disappointed when I saw it for the first time because I was expecting more brown
