We spent a full day in Memphis, TN, and it was a day of music history, classic dining spots, and a few seriously quirky sights! This city has such an incredible vibe—you can feel the history around every corner.
0:00 Arcade Restaurant
1:13 South Main
7:02 Blues Foundation
8:45 Lorraine Motel
11:05 Blues Foundation
12:50 Stax Museum
15:59 Gibsons Donuts
16:19 Elvis's home on Audubon Drive
18:32 Gibsons Donuts
18:59 Marlowe's Restaurant
19:43 Bass Pro Pyramid
Our day went from breakfast at the famous Arcade Restaurant , where both Elvis and Rufus Thomas used to eat, before walking up South Main to the Blues Foundation with its rich history of the Blues Music genre. After a brief stop at the Lorraine Motel (National Civil Rights Museum) where Martin Luther King Jr was killed, we went to standing right in the heart of soul music at the Stax Museum (4:05). The energy there is unforgettable!
But the fun part? Revisiting a few hidden gems like Gibsons Donuts (7:05), briefly stopping at Elvis's first home that he actually owned, eating at Marlowe's Restaurant and checking out the absolutely enormous Bass Pro Pyramid (11:45) at the end of the day.
