I saw "New York" in the title and had to come home from camping to watch the video!  lol.  I remember walking as a kid with my Grandma in Brooklyn, and she'd say in a strong Ukrainian English accent "Peter, we have to go to the butcher so I can make dinner tomorrow."  The food from her kitchen was out of this world.  Fast-forward 50 years (RIP Grandma) and I was fortunate to travel back to New York (after moving out to Arizona long ago) and had the pleasure of dining at Carmine's in Times Square.  Their meatballs are $38.95 (according to their website today)....  absolutely worth every penny... I also ordered the veal parmigiana at $46.95...  unreal plate...  but, chef, just watching how you prepared and what you put in your recipe, I can say without a doubt your plate would surpass theirs.  They use beef and veal in marinara... you added so much more flavor with the addition of pork loin and making your own sauce from tomatoes.  Oh, and if you enjoy music, have you listened to Neil Diamond's 1968 recording Brooklyn Roads?  That's my life in a song.  Love New York and Brooklyn, and can't wait until I can return to walk the streets and enjoy the food with the memories again.  Peace, cheers, massive God's Blessings, and 73, my good friend!  This was a sentimental throwback home run video.  Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL

Well said,  we learn alot from others their food is a good  gather of people.

You can clean the last bit of meat from the grinder by putting a slice of soft bread through. In the case of meatballs, hamburgers, or meatloaf, that little bit of bread will do no harm.

My mom always made her spaghetti sauce the day before so all the flavors would meld together. This look delicious

Wow! Yet again, a superb meal.

Yes, It takes all day to make sauce. I like the combination of ground beef, ground pork and ground veal - same combination for meat loaf. I also use onion and bell pepper (red and green) which melts in the sauce. Italian spices to include oregano, basil, rosemary, and parsley along with sage. (Sage is the key.) Like you, a older italian lady shared her recipe with me.  The sauce makes a great lasagna with added cheese of mozzarella, provolone and ricotta. The sauce is great over stuffed shells and is a base for chilli. The sauce can be in many dishes. If you want to add some sweetness to the sauce (counters the acid in the tomatoes), add some white or brown sugar or shredded carrots. Add extra vegetables like zucchini if desired.  Have you ever just had sauce with bread. Yum Yum.  Great cauliflower.  Great bread. Feeding our family and friends is a great compliment.  Chef, Thank you for helping us feed our families great and delicious dishes.

Another beautiful classic meal elevated Chef. Some of my Italian friends call that sauce Sunday sauce.  Cooked low and slow all day like their grandma's use to make. I'll definitely be making that fried bread. You're absolutely right about recipes taught to us from friends that can be shared with family. The best way to keep those traditions alive. Took a few minutes to check out Summarize This Video, so helpful! I was given the same pot you cooked the meatballs in as a gift! I'm having a time watching your shows, I hadn’t ever used anything but ground beef from the store. Now I'll be using lamb, pork tenderloin and beef, and I will grind them up, cause I bought a grinder! Will be roasting my cauliflower, too. Gonna make everything in this show when I get around to it! I think the bread is magical, rising as it fries! Your shows are fun to watch and learn!😊
