my life changed when i found out vkei

That morty impression was pretty spot on

The Japanese sure do have their way to take western things and make them way better

That's a scarily accurate Morty impression WTF!?

What's more important in VK, the music or the fashion?

Chad VK enjoyers: "Yes."

My obsession was Gazette. I loved Dir en Grey, Miyavi, Gackt, Hyde, Malice Miser, and many others growing up.

omg someone remembers Due'le quartz :o
i was so in love with the band and ofc Miyavi ...
all the good "old bands"  like D’espairsRay, Dir en Gray, Kagerou, Nightmare etc !!!

good old times <3

Visual kei is so beautiful and expressive. The Japanese music, culture, and anime. All of it is so magical. The thought that goes into their movies, food, and more is full of passion. Unlike here in the West. Where things seem thrown together. Your outfit and make-up  today Jake look amazing.

Hey I just want to say, thanks Jake for every now and then,  talking about visual kei, and really bringing it to the forefront i discovered it in 2004 and have always had a special place in my heart for it and it's been some of my most favorite music, in my life it had played a big part in shaping the person that I am and every time you really talk about it. Especially back in that time, it makes me feel all warm fuzzy inside. So I just appreciate that you do that.

man, as a 35 y.o man, i felt when u said your not that age to wear it again. i miss those times. dolling up. looking androgenous a.f, seaching for the new obsecive new fit... ahhhhh yes.... Anyways. thanks for the content man, i relate to you and your journey a lot since we kinda followed the same path and still are in a point. keep grinding it man

big fan of this look, Jake!!! the fishnets under the tank is fuego!

The girl in the second video is giving Kami from Mailce Mizer in the best way!!!

Hey dude, tysm for talking about vkei, the music, the fashion. I knew about the existence of visual kei, but I knew absolutely nothing about it. Now i'm literally obsessed.

big dir in grey fan here. bought "the world you live in" shirt (when the album "the insulated world" was release) when i saw them in Bordeaux

9:25 A FELLOW MIYAVI ENTHUSIAST‼️‼️‼️😛😛😛

Such beautiful makeup and fashion! Thank you giving light to these true art forms

Man i still listen to Dir en Grey and the Gazette and more.

how come no one ever talks about x japan? they were the ones who pretty much created visual kei and they are just the most iconic band ever, not to mention their lore cuts so deep. highly recommend checking them out if you haven't yet :) their music and them as a band mean so much to me!!

I have a dir en Grey hoody too from the last time I saw them live  but my dumb ass didn't realise that the  merch at the time was in  Japanese sizes and the hoody ended up being too small.
I still have the hoody but it is sadly too small for me ☹️

The only way I would fit in the hoody is if I get an eating disorder and become a Skeleton.

The wonderful thing about "Visual Kei" is that it represents the ultimate artistic movement and form of expression. It is a genre that requires absolutely no pandering to established "gatekeepers" or compromising of one's own identity. While I believe that is certainly part of its appeal, the fact that the music itself is absolutely superb is, above all, a major factor.
