My stock table saw fence has served me well, but I wanted more flexibility in my everyday workflow.

So I upgraded to an aluminum extrusion fence and used it as the foundation for a modular jig system. The fence itself only takes a few minutes to install. The real project is what comes next: building the jigs I use over and over again in the shop.

For this setup, I'm making an L-fence for flush and pattern cutting, a tall fence for doors, raised panels, and other taller work, plus a built-in T-track for adding featherboards. I'm also adding a sacrificial fence for rabbet cuts and a stop for quick, safe, repeatable cuts.

The bigger goal is to simplify my shop. For me, good woodworking jigs aren't just about making one particular cut easier. They're about making the next twenty cuts consistent, repeatable, and easier to set up.
