That double top stitching you mimicked from another pant is actually a double felled seam like you see on high quality denim! Basically you sew your seams to the outside of the garment, trim the seam allowance on only one side, then fold the longer seam allowance over the the smaller one to encase both! Then you end up with the original stitch line and a second stitch line where you sew down the overlap. That style of seam is very very durable, so next time you make work pants you should try it! It will look just as nice as top stitching but provide a lot of durability.

Barrel leg pants like Helens Closet Falconer pants might give you the look of what you were trying to achieve without having to do the elastic hem. Your hacked pants turned out great.

Hi Nat, well done, it looks really nice!
Personally, I like the straight legs better, but if you want versability between straight and barrel, you could always go full Y2K and add a drawstring or bungee cords into the bottom hems. Just make them long enough that they do not gather the fabric at all if worn loose (straight leg) and then you can cinch it in to a barrel leg whenever you want.

Here are my adjustments to the Lane Pants:
- Sized down from my recommended size (12) to a size 10
- Removed 4 cm (1.5") from the top of the waist
- Added 7 cm (2.7") in the lenght of the legs to account for being 181cm (5'11") tall
- Made a closed waistband. See 10:06

These turned out so good!!! The topstitching looks amazing! I'm shorter than the height that the Lane pants were drafted for so i really struggled with the sizing (they were comically large). When i first did alterations i was just winging it and swung too far in the opposite direction and made them too small... i'm stepping away from the Lane pants to make the Penny Pants instead to see if i have better luck with the sizing. But this makes me want to return to my Lane pants and try one more time :) maybe with the same pocket style you added here!

De broek die jij omschrijft lijkt op de madron broek van sew liberated😊...ik heb dat patroon gemaakt en vind hem super...is een wat meer lage taille broek. Misschien een kijkje waard voor je.

They turned out amazing!!! I have similar cotton twill black pants that I got from a dumpster when people were moving out in college, and I can say for certain they do the heaviest lifting of any clothing item I own.

Also, around the 8:50 timestamp you are wearing an amazing apron/overdress that looks exactly like something I've wanted to make for a long time! Did you make it yourself, and if so, is it based on a pattern?
