I can’t begin to express my admiration, respect and genuine affection for this wonderful man.
He faced and not only overcame his childhood illnesses but became more than a conqueror.
He faced steep challenges in a sport that has a certain emphasis on style and a standard expectation for appearance, and again, he preserved and turned what seemed like weakness into his most recognizable strength.
He has faced serious medical challenge after serious medical challenge and they have not destroyed his spirit or his kindness or his joy and gratitude, and so in this most important way he is, again, more than a conqueror.
Watching Scott on the ice; it's hard to imagine that he was ever anything but a gold medal winner. He's truly an inspiration to anyone who faces adversity and shows us what can be accomplished when you push through the adversity. Thank you, Scott.
In 1984, I saw the reigning US, World, and Olympic champion skate in the ice arena where he learned to skate. It was a charity event in memory of his mother, who died of cancer, and Hamilton called on all of his friends to make it a spectacular show. The evening lived up to the hype, but the ovation for Hamilton shook the building to its foundation.
Ya gotta know, I go to sleep with your skating, because you are such an amazing human being who found his place and threw it to the heavens and always make me smile, at 65 and a half, and work a 50 hour week, a widow, just getting the mortgage paid off, only 4 years and 7 months to go. You totally keep me inspired, thank you Scott, thank you all you give me.
Saw the King Hamilton many years ago,not enough words in the dictionary to describe this humble wonderful man. He is truly in a special place nobody,IMHO,can touch 😊😊❤ Thank you Scott for sharing your talent with the 🌎
Kristy your so right. I wish he would come back. Scott was stars on ice and still is. Scott I love you, you made my 16th birthday so special, I can't believe I have your autograph. Its one of my most treasured possessions.
Those were the days of skating and the skaters who knew what they were doing and were so entertaining as well. There are so many skaters that I have watched and enjoyed, but I have to say that Scott Hamilton is my favorite! Bless his heart ! He's been through so much but still keeps going...such an inspiration to so many.. And as Archie Bunker would say,"Those were the days"!
