8:35 "The ceiling is this card gets played in everything with no downside" yeah that's Astalor 101

@pedrodomingues1553 1 year ago

Tbh think this format kinda need like 3 cards of the keyword because in some cases like Frenzy you have a lot of different ways it was done.
having 3 cards with the same keywords would paint a bigger and better picture.

Rarran: Here is Twinspell!
CGB: I like Windfury.
Rarran: :)

"and I can only build my deck with cards with this keyword" interesting concept, someone should make a video about that ;)

Vanilla as a keyword might genuinely be better than Honorable Kill. Because the devs see HK as an upside, they make the minions it is on way worse. But since HK never actually triggers, you just get minions that are worse than a vanilla beater.

I expected to see ghosts enter CGB's eyes the moment dredge was mentioned, and I was not disappointed.

Good to see CGB recognise the power of Start Of Game. Definitely one of the top ten or five

I really love these types of videos where you and CGB get to discuss stuff and less of a competition.
You both know a lot about your respective games and it's super interesting to hear you compare and contrast.

@shane5837 1 year ago

You can just tell cgb has mana cost in mind while cimo didn’t you can see the way yugioh players think differently

@kwagmeijer26 1 year ago (edited)

I think CGB values how absolutely broken a mechanic is at its best over how much total impact it's had on the game. In that way, I understand a lot of these picks/musings that he makes that you find crazy.

@OrdemDoGraveto 1 year ago

Twinspell is basically Flashback. But it takes space in your hand instead of being in the graveyard.

If CGB ever needs to develop a reputation for his Hearthstone career, he can claim that he made the Top-8 of the inaugural Rarran's Rumble event.

I am glad he picked up on how good start of game can be, cause this card just being in your deck gives you an edge up the ENTIRE game, right from the start, you don't even need to play the card.
It's such a massive effect.

1:00:45 Start of Game was released in Karazhan with Prince Malchezaar. Don't really blame you for forgetting about him when compared to Baku though. Weird that they waited 5 whole expansions to release a second Start of Game card. Maybe Ben brode was afraid of the potential power or play pattern problem with the mechanic and chose not to make any more. But when the new team made the witchwood they just said fuck it, and then learned the same lesson the hard way.

00:15 Yeah it’s when you have an animated show about a middle-aged propane salesman, his family and his drinking buddies

I know it's kinda tiring at this point to hear "oh, voxy collab when?" But I do actually think it would be interesting to see if a limited Magic player has different thoughts on how these keywords compare to each other.

@awesumsauce24 1 year ago

I like how these videos illustrate the differences in design philosophy of each game by showing us what each player is most traumatized by. For cgb it's companions which are a guaranteed card or effect that you don't have to draw into. For cimo it's a cards that go plus on card advantage like twin spell.
