It's funny how those commentators don't really show any excitement over the 99 yard touchdown pass and they start talking about how we (Nebraska) try to hide the penalty flag. I don't really like the commentators that were in this game.
If that 99-yard touchdown had happened in Memorial Stadium, there would have been a huge, loud thunderous eruption from the spectators similar to the one that took place when Nebraska won on that last second Hail Mary against Northwestern.
46:00. Blackshirt Defense - incredible team pursuit and great lick on the ball carrier. No love from the announcers, but that's good coaching and a great play.
I think Tommy Armstrong is a lot faster than people give him credit for. He might not break away, but he's fast enough to scramble for 5-10 yards pretty easily.
I remember this game. Second year in row for both teams and Georgia pretty much handled Nebraska the first time. Both teams coming off of injury plagued “disappointing” seasons. A lot of Nebraska fans down on Pellini and retrospect given today’s mediocrity, it’s the stupidest thing in the world to me. Nobody in the entire state of Nebraska expected that win….. except the team and Pellini. Tommy’s pass from the end zone and Quincy’s catch was the most unexpected beautiful play I can ever remember….except maybe Ron Kelloggs bomb at game end to Westy to beat Northwestern. I loved that Georgia game!
