Are you thinking about getting a Blood Parrot Cichlid? They are adorable, personable, and a really fun fish to keep. But, they aren't for everyone and every setup. They are large, they definitely have the common cichlid personality, and they can sometimes be destructive to your aquascape. There is also a lot of controversy surrounding them, as they are a man-made hybrid. They don't exist in the nature. And, this hybridization can come with some problematic deformities, like their cute little, beak-shaped mouths. Personally, I love mine! But, before you get one (or two) watch this video for the complete care guide on what type/size tank they need, water parameters, feeding, tank mates, and more!
