That was all-time strongest Yugoslavia team. Pity that generation didn't win any major tournament

Those keeper shirts back then were much more spectacular.

In that World cup Argentina played against Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, West Germany. None of these teams played another World cup again.

Goodbye Plavi , I say with a sad feeling in my heart The people that dream with a kind of brotherhood between republiques never forget those Team , with yugoplayers skilled destructures and with an interesting biotype for sports..... Since Argentina your last rival in a worldchampionship

Gledao sam utakmicu. Dobro se sjećam svakog detalja. U to doba smo bili najbolja reprezentacija na svijetu. Argentince smo nadigrali u svakom segmentu igre.

Even Diego Maradona can miss, it's just unbelievable and what a hero Sergio Goycochea is!

I can't watch this... Why are you traumatizing me? I was only 10 years old when this happened and was heartbroken

I was born in Yugoslavia in 1988, was 2 years old when this world cup was on, never seen this footage, i was named after Dejan Savicevic (my dad's favourite player) great footage and what a team, shame they never got to a major trophy win!

Sergio Goycochea was a 3rd choice goalkeeper who carried the team to the final, alongside Caniggia who scored vs Brazil and Italy! They are both beloved heroes in Argentina !
