This is so cool. I have vivid memories of observing Conrail trackage from high above on the Pulaski Skyway as my dad made his way westward after exiting the Holland Tunnel. We were headed to the VF Outlets in Reading back when Reading was more bustling than its current state. Loved to sneak away from shopping to catch a freight headed towards Wyomissing Junction after passing CP Dunkle👍🏽👍🏽🛤🛤🚆🚆

I miss the few Conrail cab rides. I searched for whatever PennCentral cab ride videos but no luck.

Now retired but for me the Conrail "Harrisburg Line" used to be the Lebanon Valley Branch from Reading, PA to Rutherford, PA just outside of Harrisburg pre-Conrail as the Reading.  Watching this video brought back memories as a Reading greenhorn of 1973. Also to see the UP 6356 in consist was fun to see for when this video was made I was then with the Union Pacific. Thanks for your video.

When I rode the mail train to Harrisburg,  we called it the TV train and ran about 70 to 75 mph.  A little more excitement than this.

I like the gauntlet track at Roselle Park keeping the freight away from the station platform.

I used to deliver to the maintenance yards all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania. There was one I distinctly remember being next to a rendering plant somewhere in North Jersey. Talk about stink in the summer. My favorite yards to go to were Enola and Lehigh. I ran a curtain side trailer with a moffet all terrain lift. You name it I probably delivered it, from pallets of water to wheelsets.

AWESOME! I trained out of Harrisburg as a conductor for NS so I've ridden this trip many times. It's amazing to see how the route hasn't changed much over the years. Thanks for sharing.

Remarkable capture.  Brought back many memories.  The routing around Reading is wild.  Dispatcher gave you good railroad considering a good amount of traffic.

I remember the Conrail yards in Collinwood area in Cleveland Ohio. It's still the same with the turning house. I go by there now and then. Thanks for sharing the memories. Have a Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
