In this video I talk about the recent sales in the collectible market and how it feels like the storm that was coming is now here. Everything non-sport has been going wild and we are even starting to see comic adjacent collectibles like nintendo power, psa af15 and marvel trading cards explode in price. Its making me think about how I want to reposition and sell books going into the end of the year, i discuss in today's video.

This just confirms that card buyers are crazier than comic book collectors.

Woohoo! Finally gonna cash in on that box of Turok number ones!

100% spot on. This is the best take and not enough people are do it. Young collectors haven't been through enough ups and downs to know what the ups even look like. When $5 cards are selling for $5k, you want to be the seller... not the buyer. Listen to Swag!!!

Wait till the money printer goes off all assets are going to skyrocket.

Yup, if not in the PC... time to sell most of your stuff

Is it possible that we’re just seen more folks from the comic hobby going into the non sport card market? Be interesting to see how it all plays out. Crazy times for sure.

In 1992.. I bought 17 cases of non-sports…..I have so much…sets, wax boxes, test issue cards….now, I look at all the common cards I have, but now…I’m separating all these key cards, so glad I held on all these years, been retired 13 years, now I spend a lot of time digging up all these great cards…..just sold a month ago a 1967 super hero 55 card set…..so rare…non-sports cards at one time I had to explain what that meant in the 90,s! Great video…thank you!

I can't believe the value of that Nintendo magazine. I had that decades ago and never gave it two thoughts for value. Sheesh.

It's just nice to see the collectible market recovering from the post-pandemic decline many areas had. While cards and comics may not be as big of assets as stocks or real estate, they still should see some appreciation as the dollar dives.

PSA 9 for Impel 1990 holograms is very difficult!

Welcome back Swaggy, sell everything...maybe, but I am still holding on to my HG post 2000's newsies.
Especially the price variants. Nuff Said!

I used to like cards, now I just hate them. It’s such fake scarcity and borderline gambling. That Hulk card is an embarrassment.

Welcome back Mickey!

Because you can see the back of the card compares to a sealed comic book. Anything dr doom or secret wars connected or Spiderman is going to sell right now.

@swagglehaus love the videos.
You’re misguided in thinking that card collectors don’t know the images often come from comics, or that they can purchase a nice grade of that same issue for possibly less than a 1/1 card with that image. I don’t know a single card collector that isn’t aware and most of us collect both.
Perpetuating this theory distracts from other important points you make. :-)

I would imagine its time for Magic the Gathering cards to surge in price. The power 9 are wildly undervalued.

I had like 3 issues of Nintendo power number 1 hanging around my aunt's house all the way up to when she died in 2008. The house got cleaned out and unfortunately I wasn't up on my collectables at that point and they got lost in chaos that was cleaning out her house. . I had 2 issues of new mutants 98 in that house also.. I wish I knew at that time, still stings today

@ComicsAndRobotics 3 weeks ago

It's a matrix glitch. 7 * 7 * 7 having the grade of card of 7. This number comes to 343. Then you take the 9.8 rounded, minus the three squared... You end up with the 340. From here it's easy you just look up the price of the 9.8.

The funniest thing about Nintendo power #1 is most of these buyers probably owned it as a kid and threw it away. I know I did, same with wizard #1 and I've bought 2 of those.
