4000 years ago God created a device that has been a joy to the ears of the world for all that time. On June 8, 1979 he realised something was missing........

I truly believe that Derek is the best guitarist of our time. I can’t think of anyone other than Jeff Beck that had an innate ability to play such perfection 👍🏻❤️

This isn't a man playing an instrument, this is a man that is a conduit through which music flows and the guitar is just the final extension of that. There is never a moment  where you see him searching for where to go next.

His talent is almost supernatural. Ill bet there is no sound one could make that he couldn’t play with his guitar

If you don't know how to pray you can always go back to this and you will be blessed.

Lov 2 drummers! I started doing that with friend in 60's, b4 I'd seen/heard it done by others; such fun! At 70 yrs old, Still playing 20+ hrs/wk with up to 6 bands/wk! Grateful, Thankful😅🎉

The one thing i have noticed about Derek in all the videos i have seen him in it's not about him, it's about the music and the musicians he's playing with, a true legend!

I'm a guitarist. I'm not trying to sound pretentious but I'm quite good and have played with amazing musicians but what these guys can pull off live is absolutely mindblowing. Ive seen many live acts in my time but TTB is the only band that has made me tear up. If you ever have the chance to see them live don't hesitate. Its a beautiful experience.

Overview
Lyrics
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
The caterpillar sheds his skin to find a butterfly within
Caterpillar sheds his skin to find a butterfly within
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain
Oh Juanita, oh Juanita, oh Juanita, I call your name
Oh, the snow will be a blinding sight to see as it lies on yonder hillside
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is
The lock upon my garden gate's a snail, that's what it is
Caterpillar sheds his skin to find a butterfly within
Caterpillar sheds his skin to find a butterfly within
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
First there is a mountain

The way the music just flows out of Derek so effortlessly reminds me of SRV!  I met Derek when he came to Charleston with DTB. He is the antithesis of a rock star.  A very down to earth humble guy who is absolutely killing it! I love this band ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Derek Trucks was on a mid tier comedy podcast, We Might Be Drunk, a few months ago. He really is just a regular, down to earth guy. Doesn’t take himself too seriously and has a sense of humor. Many legends do not possess these traits. Derek rules!

Passaquan is beautiful.

Even without a slide he plays the best slide.

IMHO Derek Trucks is the most underrated guitarist of all time. .. even surpassing Duane!

One of our brightest players of this age. What's not to love?

Any guitar derrick plays he's still a beast on it. TTB all the way. ❤🎉🎉💯✌️

There is good music – there is very good music – but there are only a few masterpieces. This is one of them.
Best regards from Austria.

More than wow/amazing ❤respect for the Maestr

An honor to be among the living to witness such incredible musicianship.

This is beyond exceptional; It's divinely inspired.
