On Day 2 at Lake Toya, Hokkaido, we caught the morning cruise on the Toyako Kisen sightseeing boat, which leisurely cruises across Lake Toya. The cruise is famous for its medieval castle-style catamaran, the Espoir, which offers panoramic views of Nakajima Island, Mount Usu, and Mount Yotei. We watched the horizon open up as we glided toward Nakajima, a dramatic cluster of four emerald-forested islands rising straight from the center of the lake. We loved the unblocked, slow-paced views of Mount Yotei and Mount Usu during the cruise. The large size of the catamaran made the ride feel incredibly smooth, stable, and comfortable.
在北海道洞爷湖的第二天，我们搭乘了“洞爷湖汽船”（Toyako Kisen）的晨间观光游船，悠闲地游览湖光山色. 该航线以其名为“Espoir号”的中世纪城堡风格双体船而闻名，乘客可在此饱览中岛, 有珠山, 及羊蹄山的壮丽全景。随着游船向中岛驶去，视野豁然开朗；中岛由四座绿意盎然的岛屿组成，宛如翡翠般矗立在湖心，景象蔚为壮观。航行途中，我们尽情欣赏了羊蹄山与有珠山那毫无遮挡的景致，享受着惬意的慢节奏时光。得益于双体船宽大的船身设计，整个航程平稳舒适，体验极佳。
To capture the magic, we headed straight for the open upper deck during the cruise. It was the ultimate vantage point for shooting panoramic, unobstructed video footage of the sweeping mountain peaks, iconic landmarks, and volcanic islands passing by. The best interactive part of the cruise was feeding the wild seagulls that flew right alongside the ship. We bought a bag of Kappa Ebisen (shrimp crackers) on board for about 200 yen to feed them right out of our hands. The thrilling 50-minute round-trip voyage brought us back to the pier. We didn't step off the boat to explore Nakajima Island's rugged trekking course or the immersive forest museum, but we will save that for the next trip!
