LEGO City Update! Placing the Brick Cross Train Station

In this LEGO city update, we're making room for a new train station! This is a Bricklink Designer Program set, and it was such an enjoyable build! In order to integrate this set into the city, we need to move around a few buildings and make some changes to our roads. Once it's placed, we even get a train running around the city and through the station.

really like the Brickcross train station, but not fond of the hospital being right beside it. The hospital is a quiet zone and a train station isn't.

Suggestion:
would remove the hospital from the new location, and using the side door of the coffee shop at the station, would place a terrace with some tables.

nice, the hospital is a lil bit out of place, maybe an hotel

You should make the 3 curve road plates to one angled road! (Right by the hospital)

in that empty space across from the hospital, it would be cool to build an empty lot with a diy baseball field surrounded by tallish buildings like on the show hey arnold!

Love where you moved everything! Except the hospital, the design doesn't really belong anywhere, and I never liked it.

Maybe a redesign?

I don't like that the plain wall is facing the open area that we see the most, I am sure it would be a lot of work, but almost thinking that flipping where the storefronts are so that the cafe faces us, and has the alt mod of it where you put in a bigger patio/music stage in would work really well.

In terms of where in the city its great!

If you're ever running low on space, I'd consider switching some city roads to 1-way streets that take up half the space. Real life cities have plenty of these.

I would move the hospital to a different location, maybe create more parking or an extension to the cafe on the side of the station.
Also, in the 2 base plate gap in the middle you could build an outside basketball court, with an entry way from the street in the half base plate gap in the buildings.

The Brickcross Train station next to the high density downtown buildings is good land use and transportation planning. That arrangement is known as transit oriented development. Good planning Jordan!

I think you should switch both side parts of the station. So the waffle shop on the left side, so you have a more beautiful view and maybe make the terrace a little bit bigger. And the new paper stand is just a wall so that can be on the hospital side.

Fantastic progress! So here’s an idea for the area and space behind buildings that are mostly hidden, that’s a great place to put a basketball court or something.

I really like the placement of the train station. My only comment is to do with the “s” shaped curve it creates in the read to get to the zoo. Could slide the hospital down one base plate and just extend the road and only have 1 curve? You’d need to move the Jazz club to the right and have the road right along your access hole. This also gives you room in between the train station and hospital to add a buffer building or some of the other recommendations in some of the other posts.

Nooooo! Train smash! Good thing there's a new ambulance pull in 😂

You could make the park on the interior some kind of sporting event. That is one element your city is missing right now and would add an interesting story.

That little area in the middle of all those buildings is begging to be one of those inner city basketball courts that are tucked away and played by the locals

Love the changes!!! 👏🏽👏🏽

Hi Bricksie and Jose.
Thanks for this delightful update on the City. The placement of the Brick Cross Train Station is perfect! And all of the other modifications now make so much sense.
I'm so glad you didn't have to rip up the beach, as it is so lovely and there are so many stories you have created.
Enjoy your evening. Hot chocolate sounds like a good idea.
