Thanks for sharing as always. I also have the MLTL-6 loudspeakers. I purchased from someone we both know. He packed them very when he shipped them. Despite that I had to re solder one connection after I listened to mine. He built them very well, full blown flat pack from Neil. Fully upgraded crossover parts. I feel very lucky to have them, they will be staying with me. They sound wonderful with good detail and bass that can embarrass many larger speakers. Neil is really providing serious value for the money. Too bad many can't build or assemble their own.

The colour does have a vaguely “I was assembled alongside a T-72” vibe haha

Having a system with great bass does lead to some fun when you discover music that clearly wasn't mixed on systems with them. Many years ago I mixed a dance track for a live event only to get to the venue and had to pull the bass down by as much as we could on the live console as the nearfields I'd mixed on were nothing compared to the giant sub bins in what wasn't even a music venue. Even my little PMCs (probably just barely smaller than these MTL-6s) go low enough to occasionally hit this.

20:12 that’s me ..I run the KEF LS60..it has great performance over all …but adding a sub (KEF kc62) it’s amazing..and yes adding a second sub 😋..and another T8 😅

I think you’ve got some great gains ahead of you redo that crossover with better parts.

Excellent overview, and story!  That’s some unreal extension… I wonder if the slight lack of “slam” is due to a null in the kick drum region?

At 93dB you must have some incredibly quiet electronics to use them near field!!!
