Expressive Landscape Sketching With Arrtx Acrylic Markers - Surprising Results!

Kate Louise - Artist

In this video I create an expressive landscape sketch using the @arrtxglobal 90B Acrylic Markers (gifted). I’m working in my sketchbook and experimenting with playful mark-making, water effects, and the beautifully painterly brush tips of these markers.

I reorganised the marker colours to suit my landscape palette and mixed my own darker earthy green by layering colours. I’ll also show how adding water creates soft washes and splatters for extra texture.

These markers are portable, fun, and would be great for plein air painting.

Wow, you really pushed these markers to the limit! I feel that I gained a better understanding of what these markers can and cannot do from this video than from other reviews that I've watched. I really like your expressive and loose style. The painting turned out very beautiful!

I love how expressive your painting is! I’ve been hoping to see a video like this for a long time! Personally, I don’t like the stiff rigid art that most people make with these markers (just personal preference) but your sketch is so loose and… well, painterly! I’d love to see another like this!

It’s enjoyable to see those brave strokes during this artwork, good painting 🎉

I like how you push both the marker tips and the media to it’s limits 👏

Really beautiful work! I love your use of acrylic underpainting!
I really like these markers too, and found the vast majority of them have great lightfastness.

Artxx markers are my favorite! They are so juicy and matte. I never thought about using water, definitely going to give this a go!! Love what you created!

I think I could do several pages of under painting in my sketchbook before going out to paint outside. The thin layer of acrylic paint probably helps the blending. I have these markers and I love them for urban sketching and mixed media. Thanks for the great video.

Excellent. I bought some Enmy acrylic markers last week, and have been struggling with them in terms of getting any painterly effects. This post helped a lot. Thank you.
