SHOCKING Confessions of a Former Christian Exorcist

Maybe God Podcast

Bob DeWaay spent five years performing exorcisms, trying to free people, including Christians, from what he believed were evil spirits. But today, he’s speaking out—saying those methods were not only harmful, but also a serious distraction from the true message of the gospel.

In this powerful interview, Pastor Bob shares why he walked away from spiritual warfare ministry, what he believes the Bible actually teaches about spiritual gifts and exorcism, and how obsession with casting out spirits can pull people away from Christ and the truth of Scripture.

When I was in the hospital a man was walking toward me with a “Bad Company” shirt on singing Journey. The words jumped out at me. I went in my room and decided just to read my Bible. I opened RIGHT TO and focused RIGHT ON 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Bad Company corrupts good morals”. I was so happy to hear you say you witnessed this (along those lines). It’s not my only experience like this but GOD IS AMAZING ❤️🙏🙌

I love the way you interview your guests. You ask intelligent questions and let them take the time to answer. Too many interviewers like the sound of their own voice more than they should

Prior to receiving Jesus as my savior, I was someone in the 70s who experimented with psychedelic drugs and marijuana. Long story short when I receive the Lord I had a tremendous experience as a Holy Spirit came into me. However, a few months later, something snapped in my mind, and all I can say is that I was unable to know the truth about certain situations, and I was alarmed because I was in a state of confusion. This went on for several days and I saw help from the church I was attending. I described my condition to a grandmother in the church, and she said, “Oh, you have a lying spirit.” She prayed for me and commanded the spirit to leave. Instantly, to my relief, my mind cleared, and I was never troubled with that again. Thank you, Jesus.
Thanks for you honesty and humility in your conversation. May the Holy Spirit guide you both into all the truth.

The only thing that worked was and is the Blood of Jesus Christ, Jesus was there with me for 3 nights He carried through those horrible nights to Him all the honor and glory, thank you my Lord

We must not leave the house empty. We must fill it with the Spirit, the Word of God, divine revelation, and submit after the instantaneous relief to the time it takes to be made spiritually mature or sanctified.

I believe healing and deliverance can happen in an instant. Without discipleship, more problems will come back.

Microbiology major here: and I had a very similar experience as he describes. The order of the universe is too perfect to be happenstance

Pastor Dewaay has found his stance on deliverance, and every Christian should listen to him speak of his experience. Not all deliverance ministries are correct in their approach, but I do think some are legitimate and effective. We need to honor each other’s purposes and giftings, and keep praying and learning.

I'm a Born again Christian who has been through deliverance. I absolutely agree with anyone who is seeking deliverance needs to be disciplined. It's A MUST... Or they will be back in darkness. I am a prayer and deliverance minister. I won't do deliverance on anyone unless I know they are ready to go all in for Christ Jesus. Turn away from the world and be disciplined.

““Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.”

I have words of knowledge - praying for someone, I am given a word for them , but it’s ALWAYS a scripture, and 99% of the time affirmation of God’s great love for them.
