December 10, 2015 should have been a great day of celebration for the Motta da Silvas. The eldest of the family was graduating from high school, at the school where she and her younger brothers also attended, and where their father taught English. Between one event and another during the delivery of diplomas for the third high school, Beatriz Angélica, the youngest of the class, warns her mother, Lucinha Mota, that she would go to the drinking fountain to drink water. For anyone, an absolutely ordinary request... and safe.

Beatriz studied at school, and since always that place was known by the whole family. Fifteen minutes pass and Lucinha begins to wonder that Beatriz is not coming back. Whether it was the maternal instinct that ignited it, nobody knows, but immediately, even though Beatriz had disappeared for a short time, Lucinha starts the search for her daughter. Beatriz's father, in the center of the schoolyard, handing out diplomas to students, including his eldest daughter, still doesn't know that Beatriz would never be seen alive again....
Lucinha, friends and family spread across the large school grounds in search of the girl. Twenty, thirty, forty minutes pass... And no Beatriz. Sandro, the girl's father, is told that his youngest has disappeared. He goes up to the party stage, takes the microphone and calls out to his daughter. Some students enter the search, people start looking for the girl until the worst news reaches Lucinha and Sandro...

Beatriz had been found lifeless. Killed in a brutal way, inside a room where days before there had been an arson made by former students who simply hated the place where they had studied.

Lucinha and Sandro, still shaken, could not imagine that this would forever be the biggest turning point of their lives. In addition to burying their youngest daughter, the sweet Beatriz Angélica, the couple would have to come together even more to get the justice their daughter deserved. In a plot full of mistakes by the civil police of Pernambuco, along with an almost unpreparedness of the technical and scientific expertise of the city, and also the total absence of solidarity from the school that was the scene of a barbaric crime, Lucinha and Sandro needed to find the resilience created in the deepest sadness so as not to prevent questions from going unanswered. Questions like: Why so much meanness to such a small child? Who made this? Is there a mastermind behind all this? What is the name and face of the person who was the last person to look into Beatriz Angélica's eyes?
After six years of great perseverance, reaching the point of moving the entire country with a walk of more than 700 kilometers to demand from the competent bodies that their daughter's case had the respect that any citizen deserves to have, Beatriz's parents manage to achieve at least one of her biggest challenges: the author of her daughter's death had been found. Thanks to science, finally, the DNA left by the author on the girl's death weapon had been crossed in the database of criminals arrested in the state of Pernambuco, which resulted in the name Marcelo da Silva, who has a long list of robberies, thefts and , including sexual act against a 9-year-old girl.

The DNA delivered Marcelo, who, at first, confessed to the crime and told details that only the author could tell. But... After a few days already as a prison celebrity, Marcelo began to change what he said, putting in doubt if he would really be Beatriz's executioner. Lucinha and Sandro have no doubt, this is the man they've been looking for since December 10, 2015. And now, a new and decisive season of this story begins.

Beatriz Angélica Mota Ferreira da Silva was only 7 years old when she was killed at the school where she studied, in Petrolina, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil.
