A mom reached out through my website asking for help because her 9-year-old daughter had been staring out the window, wondering when she’d finally be able to play in the backyard again. After asking the landlord for help for over a year and getting nowhere, I knew this was a cleanup I had to take on. What started as an overgrown, unsafe backyard turned into one of the more meaningful days I’ve had in a long time.

The owner ought to make a substantial contribution to support Midlife Stockman. All in agreement.

The landlord laughing hard when you told him he should have done this.... that's telling!! He should be ashamed!

What a horrible slumlord, laughing when he knows it's his responsibility to have a safe clean yard for a FAMILY WITH CHILDREN who pay him rent. Absolutely inexcusable.

It’s been a year. He’s probably going to raise the rent now that you’ve gotten the yard looking nice. I also feel that the owner was using the language barrier to his advantage and probably knows more English than he let on. Thanks for helping families. You’re doing amazing work!!

The city should place stiff fines on those landlords. He understood way more than he pretended to.

It was good to see you accept the meal from the family who you’re helping. Accepting grace is as important as offering it. ❤

To help pay for dumping fees. Thank you for showing this family kindness!!💜

Sean, for gas, dumping fees, equipment. Thank you for being such a wonderful human being.

That’s the kind of landlord that will either kick them out after you get the yard together. Or raise the rent.

That's not all trash, that CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS!! Fence boards, roof tiles, old windows!! That's his responsibility!! And that's WAY MORE than one year of vines and junk. Thank you from rural West Michigan, we love you Sean!!

This was one of my favorite episodes because you handled the owner with love and kindness even though it was his responsibility. You considered the family and their situation and kept on working. Thank you for being a great example of love and kindness!

This is one of my favorite families that you have helped. And BTW, that landlord should be ashamed of himself for expecting renters to live with such a horrific mess while happily collecting their rent money. You're a gem, Sean. God Bless you. 🙏🥰

That owner couldn't give a flying f..t, he doesn't care, he gives the impression as long as he getting rent he's fine. Also how did he know to turn up whilst you were there? It's sad how some landlords (not all) let the properties fall into disrepair, its the same here in UK they just want the money and the tenants often have no choice or they're on the street. It really saddens me. You're so good Sean great job as usual. Not perfect but better xx 💕

Landlord was a real piece of work. He just didn't care. The family was so nice. You really out did yourself, so much work. May God bless you and your family.

@SassySue67 5 months ago

That landlord is playing stupid instead of taking responsibility for making that yard safe for the tenant. If anyone gets hurt out there it’s on him. Someone needs to call the housing authority for all that dumping. Thank you Sean for helping this family.

I have been doing lawn care for over 20 years. I subscribed to your channel the first time I watched you doing this work. I like every one of your videos and love watching. The world needs more people like you who truly care about others. Love what you're doing and will continue to support your channel. ❤

Landlord and his crony knew exactly what you were saying.

The restoration of a backyard, for a precious young daughter… this is what Midlife Stockman means to me. Seeing you work incredibly hard Sean, regardless of how the yard ended up that way… sharing a meal with a young family, and even a cup of hot coffee. Thank you for all your hard work in making life better, one home at a time. Blessings to you and this family. ❤

The landlord is more like a slumlord-- if he doesn't care about the outside of his property, then he's probably also negligent about any necessary maintenance on the inside as well. Just keep those rent checks coming because it's all about the money.
