Locker Nuts episode 838

I bought this locker months ago, and have been so busy, I didn't have time to get to it. Well, it's time to dig in and see what's inside. I'm excited, as this locker looks so good... so good that I paid $1,800 to get it. But that excitement is dampened quick when a terribly tragic item is uncovered, and it's probably the saddest locker I've ever dealt with.

I ran across baby ashes multiple times as an auctioneer. All you can do is reach out to the owners and offer them back. It was actually sad how many owners asked for these things and then never came to get them. I had so many awesome auction buyers I worked with were always willing to set ashes and family pictures aside for the original owner. I had facilities with just pictures building up waiting for the owners to come get. We always tried our best.

Just saw you find the baby's ashes. It's sad, yes. But the respect and compassion you exhibit are a testament to your character. Glad there are people like you in the world.

My husband and I lost our daughter to stillbirth after a full term pregnancy in 1995. She would have been 30 this year. We still grieve her loss.

Judging by the amount of new with tags items, I strongly suspect that the previous owner had a shopping addiction.

These companies raising the rent on units ever 3 months - not by $5 or $10, but by $70-100 a month is unethical.
It’s disturbing that people lose their belongings because they can’t afford to pay the rent.

These lockers are a double edge deal, while I'm excited for you to earn your money, it's also sad to see a whole life picked through, you do show a huge amount of respect, just seeing how much you don't trash makes my heart happy.
The loss of a child you never get past, I lost my twin daughter at just 2 hours old, thank you for your care. ❤

To me, the saddest ones are the old men that pass away, leaving their beloved tools and projects. The Viet Nam Vets are bittersweet. The old ladies that had to leave behind all of their bolts of fabric and their precious sewing machines. There are so many that tug at my heartstrings….

11:56 Joss money. Meant for burning at New Year's to send wealth to your ancestors in the afterlife. (makes sense if you're Chinese/Asian)

That's not ending on a down note, to me. Loss happens, but knowing the mother will get that precious parcel of memories back is a positive and heartwarming way to end that saga! I appreciate the care you took.

Maybe the reason the stuff was in the storage was because she was in the hospital. All that personal stuff makes me think someone had to pack her up quick.

I lost my son Jordan 2 years ago. He had just turned 21, but he was still and always will be my baby. Thank you so much for trying to get those ashes back to her. If I lost a storage unit with my Son's ashes, it would probably be the only thing I'd want back as well. I would be absolutely devastated to lose my son's urn.

Thank you for your compassion for the loss of the baby. I lost an infant daughter in 1993 and it stays with you everyday. Blessings to you and your family❤❤❤

As someone whom just lost a storage unit full of my family memories for 4 generations, due to severe health problems. I only hope they treasure the items a little bit more than most storage hunters 😢 I already know my family photos probably ended up in the trash.

I like the youtube channel and the story about her lost, that's why you found a lot of fake money. In mine culture (Chinese) we burn the fake money to honor the death and we do it on April and October. We also burn fake clothes and bring food for the person for his afterlife.

This just shows how people can lose everything, unexpectedly, we don’t know the circumstances that a person has to put their whole life in storage 😢😢😢😢😢

@dragonwithagirltattoo598 1 year ago

To think that’s someone’s whole life basically is kind of sad. I can’t imagine how horrible it must be to fall on hard times and lose everything. Just very sad.

My daughter lost her first child at birth, a beautiful baby boy, 18 years ago. We buried him next to my mother, so we can always visit him when we go to visit with my mother. It’s something that none of us will ever truly get over.

I like the way you go through your lockers; you seem to give the person that lost the locker with some respect.

I lost my daughter in the second trimester and I couldn't imagine putting her ashes in a storage unit. Everytime I moved houses my daughters ashes were never packed away, they were always with my essential items that were in arms reach. Even when I was homeless for a few months with my kids and all of our property was put in storage and we stayed in a motel, her ashes came to the motel with us.
I think because my sister lost everything she owed (baby pictures of her kids and all) when she put all her stuff in storage while she had her house built. Someone from the company apparently lost her unit (most likely stole and sold it) i just would never put something so valuable to me in a storage unit just in case.
Not all people are as nice as him to return stuff, no matter what it is.
