3d on scratch is the equivalent of making a 5 star meal with a plastic fork and a microwave

For the people who don't understand how impressive some of these newer projects are, this is basically like giving a person a bucket of sand and they build three towns with it

So... don't give structural engineers access to LEGO, or in this case, software engineering graduates access to scratch XD

I did scratch for fun when covid 19 started

As someone who's been coding 3d on scratch for years, literally made a dozen rendering engines, this video was honestly really interesting! I was also glad it wasn't full of : "yes this was made in scratch, the engine we used in middle school" XD

I would also recommend you checking the fused3d engine from kean, with a built in coding language and stupidly good performance ( personally, my engines focus on rendering not in real time, using pathtracing and such, so Performance isn't really a thing in 1080p for me lol )

Scratch has its limitations, but it can also do things like... that. Yeesh, and people complain over a clone limit.

I never knew about 3D on scratch before 3.0, very cool stuff!

Putting a picture of a Minecraft inspired game in the 2007 image, despite Minecraft not existing untill 2 years later is definitely a decision

It's really amazing just how far 3D games in Scratch have come! And this video was a super entertaining watch too :)

Love the video, it was really interesting. (I would reccomend de-essing or if not possible EQing your mic audio, as the high end is really loud sometimes)

Thank you for the video. Making 3D games in Scratch requires pure dedication.

Good vid some of these projects are definitely very impressive even to this day

I loved the video! The voice over would be so much better if you added a filter that makes your voice sound more bassy and less poppy though!

There's actually a program called cospaces/delightex that is very similar to scratch with its coding blocks but its in a 3d engine. Though its very limited in some ways if not pushing it to its very limit with regular coding languages. For example path finding or 3rd person is very challenging to do well in most scenarios.
