How 300 FBI Agents Hunted Russia's Most Dangerous Spy

For 22 years, Robert Hanssen sold America's most guarded secrets to Russia while working as a senior FBI counterintelligence officer whose job was to catch spies. He never once met his handlers. He used encrypted dead drops, classified ads, and Cold War tradecraft to stay invisible. It took 300 FBI agents, a retired KGB officer's file, and one stolen Palm Pilot to finally bring him down.
This is the full story of how the FBI's most devoted churchgoer became the most damaging mole in American history.

Fun fact I left out of the video.. Hanssen didn’t just sell secrets to the Russians he also anonymously posted erotic stories about his sex life with Bonnie on early internet forums, all without her knowledge.

"What took you so long?" is quite a good quote when you get caught.

What CIA/FBI employee, from a janitor to the director doesn't dream of James Bond adventures? That guy's love of 007 doesn't make him unusual.

Getting sentenced to ADX Florence might be worse than the death sentence, well done.

traitors are scums no matter which side they are...
it's quite fascinating how incompetent both parties were in counter intelligence, they always needed a traitor on the other side to give them names!

Never ever underestimate anyone. Lesson to learn

What's worth note taking here is how they sold him for $7M, replenishing what they've spent before on paying to the traitors. Even inflation doesn't spoil the business after all.
