Being a fish must be really frustrating. Everyone is like "ewww, it smells fishy". Yeah I'm a fish goddammit, what did you expect?!

NO WAY

Bro, why would you get someone who doesn't like salmon to rate salmon?

Sophia messed up the bell curve here

Commercial fisherman here Chum is a smoking fish, not a fry/baking salmon. Alantic salmon are overly fatty and heavily farmed there diet is basically catfood, if they ever get out of a fish farm into a river they would wipe out all native salmon species. That's why there banned from being raised in Washington state and many other states. Pink salmon is used for canning/smoking, King and coho is every thing, from smoking to pickling. Fun fact we as fisherman only get .75 cents to 1.25USD per pound for Chum, 2.25 to 3 for Coho, and 2.50 to 4 for king.

I cooked every EXOTIC salmon...
proceed to put 2 trouts in the top 3

Funny how describing a steak as "beefy" is a compliment, but deacribing fish as "fishy" is a mark against it. 😂😂

Fresh caught pink salmon is incredible. You have to grill it the same day you kill it, not vacuum seal it and send it halfway across the country in a freezer. You got ripped off on that fillet 100%.

I think that you three are "accustomed" to eating farmed salmon. Did anyone notice that all the top choices, including the Char, are all farm raised (correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that that Char was also probably farm raised. I've worked in the salmon fishing and aquaculture industries for over 40 years)?

That first salmon was 100% spoiled

PLEASE do every crustacean like scallop or like shrimp or crab.

As an Alaskan Native this video hurt my soul. The low ratings they gave the Coho and Sockeye was painful to watch. Especially since they rated the farmed stuff so highly. 😢

Sophia's rankings are so volatile that i have no idea what to make of the overall scores sometimes lmao

As a Alaskan native I do not like how Sophia was rating, like why have someone who doesn’t like real salmon and feeds off farm stuff rate fresh caught salmon.

I'd rather have Gordon Ramsay judging my dishes than Sofia at this point.

I do love the control that you added, it's something that's been lacking in a lot of the other exotic meat videos.

"My hamburger tastes too beefy!"
😢😢😢

A huge part of salmon quality is when it is harvested in it's lifespan and how the fish is treated once it is caught. The pinks meat looked like it was from a spawning fish where it was starting to break down. There's also a huge difference between a fish that is caught, bled and immediately put on ice vrs a fish that has sat for a few hours before being processed. I would say almost all salmon are absolutely delicious when they are in their ocean/lake run period of their lives and all of them degrade rapidly when they move into the rivers to spawn and die.
