A most excellent and thorough review Craig! I just ordered this one last night and I’m very excited about it. I really want that mk2 Datsun as well and was having a really difficult time on which I should get first.  I miss Rlaarlo sending me stuff, but since I’ve taken a step away from my YouTube rc channel, I’ve no reason to expect anything to come in for free😝 in exchange for an honest review from them. That being said, Rlaarlo has always tried very hard to listen to all of us “ product influencers” feedback. They do very well at improving their product and listening to customer concerns. The fact that they have “loosely” copied a specific design for a body with out licensing doesn’t really bother me too much and I try to look at it in a way that is paying homage to a very cool design. It’s not a 100% rip off of Rossi’ car or a ford fiesta, but it leaves me feeling happy that it’s pretty close, and good enough for me. Plus it saves me money not having an “exact licensed copy.
You mentioned the HBToys R1001 rc which I also own and highly recommend. They do not 100% copy Traxxas’ Trx4 , but changed enough of it to obviously see that it was inspired by Traxxas. As for the body, again, subtle differences in its grille and markers , as well as lack of certain traits  show what it’s trying to make you feel like you have , but is definitely something different in fact. In the R1001 they leave out the optional locking front and rear diffs and keep their representation fully locked. It’s a very good rig, and if you have been offered one for review, I highly recommend you try one. I purchased mine, and have been very happy with it.
