Pixar loved their twist villains so much that their leading guy was one

John Harasseter

Lotso and Lasseter

Nice on the outside, but on the inside, they're monsters

This man is the Disney version of dan schneider

i so wish we couldve seen the original version of brave. The beginning of the movie had such a strong start

19:18 The fact that Cars is about a rookie racer learning to be more humble and less prideful, and the fact that Lasseter puts HIMSELF above Jorgen Klubein and Joe Ranft's name in the credits, despite the fact that he didn't come up with the idea is totally bonkers to me.

It’s absurd how John Lasseter keeps screwing up people’s work because he didn’t like their visions and he keeps doing it again at Skydance.

WOW, his “apology” was truly worthy of YouTube

So is this why Lightning Mcgroomer became a meme

When I was a kid, I sent him a fan letter, and he sent back an autographed picture of Woody and Buzz…

This really makes me sad..

I guess Syndrome was right, you can’t count on anyone, especially your heroes.

I am starting to think that Lotso was a character based off of Lasseter, because their names are similar, and Lotso’s actions seem like a more SFW version of the things he had done.

It's ironic that back in 1993, Lasseter was embarrassed with the Black Friday reel of Toy Story due to Katzenberg's meddling and yet he had the audacity to meddle with the directors' creative freedom work from 2006 to 2018.

Let me get this straight, a kid movie director is an absolute monster?”

”Yeah. What a shocker, huh?”

I keep forgetting that Lasseter was also a Disney executive, and man, knowing exactly how he fumbled up so many movies

Man

"He was inappropriate with the fairies"

this is damn heartbreaking because his love of Miyazaki movies (my most cherished and favorite in all of animation personally) almost single-handedly brought those productions to mainstream america and western animation. but someone's good taste doesn't indicate a good person. that's probably the core learning point in situations like this. even miyazaki is said to be miserable to work for, not to this scale of course, but you can have a visionary mind who is also a nasty individual. that's just life and it's ok. it doesn't take away the spirit of the work. nothing can

Just a gentle reminder: Some employee at Pixar had a “secret” Love Lounge. It was a small crawl-through door into a small room where it was all velvety and sensual-ish. This is shown in the behind the scenes footage of Monsters Inc Disc 2, I’m not fucking with yall. The more I grow up, the more fucking creepy it is to me.

The current issues with Pixar are a multitude of layered problems in and out of their control. John was someone who coasted on his successes and only really worked well as a team player. He would honestly make things worse in general if he was still around. It’s sad seeing someone I used to look up to as a kid reveal themselves to be horrible, but I supposed that happens with this industry.

As an animator, I heard stories about John’s sketchy hugs. But I didn’t think they were this bad O.O
