he's definitely wearing no pants, guys

The best part is when you tell your recorded self to "shut up" lol. I have done that SO many times in my production journey.

Can't get through the rest of the video without being distracted by the thought of wether Joe has pants or not,  very helpful nonetheless, keep it up man

and another very important tip, NEVER EVER when recording vocals, stop for the day to continue the next day!

It’s great people like you that allow me to have an education in the audio industry without the massive amount of debt. I’ve learned so much from YouTube and your videos are some of the best and detailed I’ve seen. Thank you for being awesome!

Ever just listen to someones vocals and said "yeah, he's definitely pantsless when he recorded this."

You describe the frequencies so well making sounds with your mouth

3:20 - The most polite way I've ever heard someone say "Skill Issue"

Been watching your tutorials for a few hours, and I'm already starting to hear a difference in my mixes. You're very easy to follow.

05:25  EQ
12:35 Using compressor

It's crazy how good a singer you are apart from being a pro editor

What a beautiful voice you have. Just the raw audio was so pleasant to listen to

I tend these days to grab a dynamic EQ to tame the "bad' build-ups frequencies that occurs on only a few spots of the track.Feels more natural as static substractive curves sometimes tend to act too much where I don't want to. Static Eqs moves on high-pass filter , and boosting air are OK of course.  Nice video anyway !

"Fearfully and wonderfully made" What a great song!!!

Super awesome way to mix vocals demonstrated, short and with humor, God  Bless You, Thanks Joe!!!

Pants or no pants this is a great tutorial! Thanks Joe!

I’ve figured out that heavily automating the gain on the vocal track will fix a lot of very nasty problems. You may realize that using heavy EQ or compression to solve big problems will remove a lot of the character of the vocal or will bring in noise. Sometimes a loud phrase or breath or a nasty loud sibilant can be tamed with gain automation more easily than complicating things with a heavy compression or heavy De-essing.

If the problem is happening consistently  on vocal phrases it might be fine to use EQ or compression, but if it’s a one-off or not consistent, then using gain automation can be better because the rest of the vocal won’t be affected.

I don’t know about other Daws but in pro tools it’s pretty easy to shape the gain on the track just by adding keyframes and pulling them up and down.

One of the best ways to teach, is putting some kinda humor, on what you're teaching. You are a Truly gifted Teacher. THANK YOU! Greetings from Argentina.

Your videos are invaluable. I've never been happy with my own vocal in a mix, probably because for most of the time I can't sing. But on those rare occasions when I thought my vocals were no' bad, they just didn't sit in the mix. Too much footering and fiddling with this effect and that effect and in the end you totally lose what the vocal is all about. I've just finished a song using your advice and it's probably the first vocal I've really been happy with. Thank you.

Thank you. I jumped into an old mix today and started going with it, but suddenly everything started to sound so bad... And I had a lot of processing going on, on the vocals. I deleted it all and did it again the simple way. Thanks. You saved my day 😁
