I prefer brick/ concrete/ steel kind of building, but I guess this model of wooden house contruction is way better than those wooden stick frame options practiced in the US - region with absolutely THE worst homes in the Western hemisphere. In this case utility hook ups are installed later on obviously?
they used all the timber off the side of a mountain to build that. As far as I could tell, each layer of walls was 1x6 ten thicknesses. Flat roof in a snowy area...what could possibly go wrong. All plumbing and electrical will either need to be cut into the walls or surface mounted
How will that perfectly flat ,level roof with high edges shed rain and snow?Okay,2 corner drains...can you say snowblower on the roof?but,a lot of good insulation and supermembrane on tjhe roof..beautiful finish.on roof
Hey great work guys. That looks like quite a large dwelling and to erect in ten days shows you are all professionals in your field. Looks bloody chilly though. I live in Brisbane Australia where we are currently "struggling" with our winter. It is 25 degrees celsius ! Although yesterday morning it got down to 12 degrees and I had to put my jeans on with my T shirt ha ha !
Very interesting to see how timber homes are built in zero climate conditions and insulated, interesting use of chainsaw instead of a bulky mitre saw that you can't move around easily. Not sure about the number of layers of roof insulation and how well they were fixed to the osb, but overall very good, would be nice to see how they finish the roof and waterproof the outer walls
Maybe glue as well as screws? screws may work loose with temperature fluctuations? Also, levels and square ? Seems to be a lot of Mk 1 eyeball measuring going on. Looks good but questionable longevity
