Is selling on Etsy actually worth it in 2026—or do the numbers simply not add up?

Recently, a viewer left a comment on one of my videos arguing that with Etsy's competition, typical conversion rates, and tight profit margins, most sellers will never see a meaningful return on their investment.

Instead of just debating it in the comments, I decided to actually look at the numbers.

In this video, we're talking about:
• How many Etsy sales you actually need to make meaningful income
• Why revenue and profit are VERY different
• How conversion rate affects the amount of traffic you need
• Why a $5 profit product and a $25 profit product create completely different businesses
• Whether selling higher-priced products can make the numbers work
• Why “low competition” doesn't necessarily mean a good opportunity
• The hidden cost of the time you spend building your shop
• And whether I still think Etsy is worth starting in 2026

I don't think the answer is simply “Etsy is easy money” or “Etsy isn't worth it.”

The better question is:
Does the business YOU are building actually make financial sense?
