I just like how she's an est and a gotoh archetype in one and her unit feel is insane.

Myrrh also has the benefit of being in the story for a while before she joins you as a combat unit. You have a whole side arc in trying to retrieve her dragonstone and then the pay off when you get it is great.

I usually just let her deal with the reinforcements in 16, maybe feed her some eggs and she's good to go for endgame. If that doesn't make for a good unit I don't know, she just works.

Lizard about to calmly destroy the curious tier list placements.

What I like about Myrrh is that in a game that loves to give us underleveled units that need to be fed experience to underperform after multiple chapters of trying to catch them up, while Myrrh just needs one chapter and she's online. Also her level ups are near guaranteed to be good, unlike the three trainees, none of whom have a non-HP growth over 50%. And as mentioned, she fits an easy slot on the team as an endgame boss killer if the need or desire arises.

Also the tier list was inherently flawed from the start for not having a Seth tier.

"she has guardrails to prevent her from taking over the game"

Enemy control glitch approaches menacingly

Insane growths are just some of the most fun unit designs, part of the reason reverse recruitment Karel is one of the most fun units around. Considering shes also not spammable means shes basically the "fun" unit of the endgame, not even a busted Est carry or anything. One of my favorite units, as staying engaged in fe8's dry ass endgame is the most challenging part.
Personally, defense is my favorite stat, and even when her dragonstone broke I still used her in a map to choke a point for a few turns until I could get Ephraim there

The last time I played sacred stones I used Myrrh for the last 2 map only. She completely cleaned up the forest by herself. I ended up hitting like 18 on that one map alone

Myrrh just ends up being a really fun unit to use. Doesn't need too much to reach good enough stats because of her growths , effective damage and dragon stone stats , while always being there when you need to take an enemy out. Perfectly designed to help players that struggle in the late game while never overshadowing the units you raised.
my only gripe is that they could have given Myrrh an unlimited dragon stone for the creature campaign.  At that point. your units are so strong. They will not be overshadowed regardless. At least the enemy control glitch lets you repair her dragon stone for some fun there.

Funni dragon go brrrrr and levels go dink dink dink.

Fun fact: using enemy control opens up dark magic to myrrh as well as repairing the dragonstone

Yea Myrrh is very fun. Feels like they took what worked with Fae from FE6, and just ironed out the kinks. Fae is kind of a janky unit who is often not seen as more than just a sponge for siege tomes or status effects, but Mrryh’s flight and the high amount of monster enemies in FE8 make her quite appealing.

All the dragons should get a second dragon orb and more hammerane staffs to keep them active. I don't use them much so they stay on bench but if the game added hard foes like in engage and tbe reward was a dragon stone that'd be amazing for a semi challenge mode

Its too bad there isnt a secret second stone in one of the secret shops or something. With 100 uses she could be a high gold cost funny unit.

i think people rated her too highly, but she is a super fun unit

Here's my take as a brand new Fire Emblem player that played Sacred Stones as my first game and played both routes. Context: I didn't ironman, but I wasn't reseting every mistake that lead to a death, so I did lose a couple units, especially the least important ones. I also used Warp in a very limited way (as either the finisher of the map after playing at least most of it or as a desperation move).

Based on what you said in the beggining (based on the poll she would be around 7th) that is actually close to where I would rank her. I value her high mostly because of the consistency. While Lute / Arthur / Saleh all could be higher then her, it would be very unusual for me to have multiple of them being better then her in the same playthrough. The same goes for  staff users and even flyers. I would also rank her above all the cavaliers (except Duessel and Seth) because while they are really useful over the course of the game they would always end up falling short in the later parts of the game.

There's also a point in the game (which is exactly about the same time you get her) in which your deploy numbers increase a lot, and Myrrh tends to end up being better then a random untrained unit from your bench.

Another issue is that multiple classes have to share the legendary weapons, so Myrrh is a better boss killer then most of your units, since non effective damage is mostly uselessagainst the end  game bosses. For exemple: Only one of Cormag, Tana, Vanessa (and your spear focused cavaliers) can use Vidofnir; Only one of the cavaliers, Garrik, Josua or another promoted Hero can use Audhulma ... I also had a particularity: I never got to use neither Ivaldi nor Gleipnir because I didn't value Arthur that highly (although most people do) and never got to train a dark magic user or a Valkyre to S rank for them.

There's also a couple units that  are considered better by most people that I value slightly lower than Myrrh:

- I don't value Vanessa as highly because I find it dreadful to train her and in the playthrough I did she probably ended up with terrible strenght growths, so she wasn't dealing that much damage even after promoting and was outclassed by Cormag (it was Ephraim route). I get this is 100% anecdotal evidence, but I can't rank her based only in "she should be really good". I voted her as Pretty Good.

- For some reason that I can't explain I don't value Arthur as highly as most people. Hee usualy ends up slightly behind a couple of my depoying options and therefore ends up sitting most of the game out. I have to say I usualy enjoy the melee units more and value archers higher then most people so I tend to not stack that many ranged units (especially mages) and for some reason I prefer Lute and Saleh over him and I usualy have either a promoted Neimi or Innes.

-I just realized I massively undervalued my staff users in the votes, even tho I usually have at least 1 main staffer and sometimes even have my sage carry one or two staffs. Even then I didn't rank any main staff user in the top tiers. It must be damage dealer bias.

With that in mind each playthrough tends to have about 7-8 units that I value higher then her (close to your assumption) and I also always have Eirika in the squad in both routes, so it's another deployed slot for a unit that could be higher then Myrrh that might get to be benched for some time. There's also the fact you might lose one of the units I value higher then Myrrh, which is unlikely to happen to her.

I love ALL ActualLizard videos!!!! ❤

Yes, the little dragon gremmy is the bestest. She's adorable and is an awesome dragon.

Just saw the poll results, I'm glad you and the people did my boy Knoll justice. Ik some people would have had a "Knoll" tier as the bottom of the list

Mrrh is adorable.

Yooo, my main "issue" with the tier list gets an exclusive video
