so many of these cozy games usually devolve into just straight up late stage capitalism, but this one wears it right on its face, thats the point

32:40 “Nisse” is a Scandinavian creature, they’re not evil, just a bit mischievous, and that is not their M.O at all. Also, Santa is a “nisse”, so some of them are just good. They’re m.o is more like, rearrange the stuff in your house. They can’t get your wife to leave you

what i really like about this game, and ties in with your pointers at the end, is that its authenticity working in retail.
I have worked in a supermarket, stocking shelves, working the register and helping out customers all at the same time. its tiring. its stressful. lack of management and not getting educated on new software (like when liss didnt have to use the calculator anymore) is reality of working in this field.

However, liss stated she never had time to "just enjoy" her store but the game doesnt necessarily push you to progress. you, the player are in charge of how "profitable" your days are in order to progress the story line but if i recall correctly, none of the quests are day-based. Meaning it doesnt matter how many in-game days you play until you talk to xyz-character to progress.
Its a nice way to show how quick capitalism takes over when you let it.

I enjoyed this playtrough so much liss! you streamed it in a time where i was really troubled; lost my job and had tons of time where you kept me company with these streams aswell as your animal crossing playtrough <3
