□ Slight corrections -- the two reactions I talk about at 5:07 aren't actually unused. The purple mist effect actually gets applied during Halloween when villagers trick you, but the reaction state doesn't include the villager's panic animation like it does during that event. And the scared reaction is used when Resetti yells at you for resetting, but it's hard to see if your back is turned!

And yes... I do have a typo at 5:32... sorry!

if anyones wondering what Bebebese is at 7:08 it's basically the speech the villagers use and you can hear it in all the games when you catch a bug or fish, it's also used for some special characters like when Phyllis mutters in New Leaf or when Zipper mutters in New Horizons, you're welcome :)

Shaki is an onomatopoeia for the sound of a rodent or small creature scuttling in grass.
So it's basically akin to how a squirrel might sound rummaging in a garden.

I know it's just defaults, but the idea of Shaki's behavior as a rude, short-tempered sailor basically being the total opposite of Leif's as a timid, all-loving hippie with their both still being gardeners is funny to me.

PET isn't just short for polyethylene, but specifically 'polyethylene terephthalate' or 'polyethylene tetrachloride', the two most common plastics used for water bottles (among many other things).

For Animalese, the multiplayer chat menu in New Leaf will actually speak Animalese when you tap the letter you want to use, or at least the individual letters where it can. I remember noticing this and then being able to hear it in the villager's voices too.

There is actually a third way to make your player get a shock reaction and the best of all, it's that you can do it all the time you want.

If you get the Mouth of Truth from Gulliver, that furniture make the player shock everytime it touch it with the A button, the item will change the face and the character get a shock. 😂

According to Google Patents, the patent for Animalese has expired on August 23rd 2020.

So anyone can use it now without the threat of a lawsuit because of patent infringement ala "that one Crazy Taxi arrow pointing lawsuit", I think.

Just saw this in my recommended. went "please god let this entire channel be just about weird animal crossing shit", clicked the page, JACKPOT.

In a perfect world, every video game ever made would have a channel like this dedicated to it. There's so much beauty to be found everywhere you look, and its a miracle that some people deem it worthy of their time to showcase it.

The 12th shirt pattern in the first row seems to be a reference to the luxury brand Gucci. The green and red stripes are their signature pattern and the crossing pattern on the outside is their “diamonte” pattern.

The rightmost pattern on the top row at 11:59 is a reference to the main character’s dress in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, the film that led to the creation of the famed Studio Ghibli!

I don’t think that the “scared” player reaction is unused; I remember it triggering when Resetti yells at the player when you meet him sometimes.

It's such a shame Blanca never returned. You can already draw inappropriate things onto your clothes and visit other people's towns, so why is drawing on her face so bad?
Even then, they could just let her hang out in your own town for the rest of the day. It's still gonna be fun to see what kinda face you drew last time you saw her.

Back in the day I had an animal crossing town on one memory card, and my brother had a town on the other. So we would always be visiting each other's towns and I saw Blanca many times. My brother also pranked me with the easter egg where the player's face turns into a gyroid if you turn off the game while you're in someone else's town.
